the highest recorded wet bulb temperatures in the world occur in india, jsyk. in odisha, they’ve hit 34.6 degrees celsius. the human survivability limit is 35 degrees celsius but the body faces significant risks, potentially fatal risks, even at 30 degrees as it starts failing to cool itself, like i’m talking organ failure levels of risk. climate change isn’t coming to peak, it’s been in the global south where you can’t see it or feel it.

imagine temperatures that high and humidity as high as 75%—you make more heat than you can ever cool. your sweat cannot evaporate fast enough. you literally boil alive. heat deaths in india are underreported and they already hit the thousands. there is no plan, for a nation of almost 2 billion people. no plan. nothing.

Come to think of it, it really is insane that my entire country is burning alive and literally no one in the rest of the world cares. Thousands of Indians are dying every day from the heat, it's 45+ degrees in multiple areas, the government couldn't give two fucks, we're getting severe warnings and red alerts, and not a soul outside of South Asia is speaking about it because why would you ever care about brown people

Yeah so I heard once if youre terrified and catastrophize a lot what you have to do when you imagine the worst things possible is then continue to imagine yourself living through it. like if you can’t stop imagining your worst fears then see them through and imagine you survive it. and that really changed how I dealt with intrusive thoughts and flashbacks and whatnot and also just life after getting so adjusted to thinking if certain things ever happened to me again I’d die and I recently realized when thinking about the same prospective outcomes I thought would kill me, despite being terrifying, I don’t feel that way anymore like I know I would survive them most likely. and the thought i can say that also terrifies me but also is a huge sign of progress and part of letting go of these terrors can be letting go of how much power they have over you like maybe thats actually freedom and one day it might mean little to nothing to me but right now it means that im still scared but I won’t die. and the fact I don’t feel like I’m going to die scares me because I’ve revolved so much of my life around how scared I am. So not feeling as scared is scary in itself. This is all just spitballing speaking my mind xoxoxo

at least can all we agree that the original gay flag with the magic and sex colours is BEAUTIFUL and it should make a comeback

I think part of getting better is complete ego death. Like you’re not above setting a timer for 5 minutes and focusing on a task. You’re not above doing a very simple 3 minute workout to start. You’re not above reading for 10 minutes a day when you first get out of your reading slump, even if you used to read for hours. You’re not above starting slow and then building up to where you want to be/where you once were. What you are above is total inertia. Doing something really is better than doing nothing. Radically accept where you are, radically accept your limits, and go from there. Don’t let your ego get in the way.
