Just as a note to anyone going to see I'm Sorry Prime Minister, it is absolutely amazing and so worth seeing (very funny, and poignant, and I very nearly cried at the end), but Simon Rouse has had to drop out of the rest of the tour due to illness.

A guide to the main characters in Yes Minister, including James Hacker, Sir Humphrey Appleby, Bernard Woolley, Annie Hacker, Frank Weisel
Character guide
James Hacker
AKA: Jim Hacker; The Rt. Hon. James Hacker MP;. Minister for Administrative Affairs. Played by: Paul Eddington
Jim is a kind-hearted, well-meaning, albeit slightly bumbling man. Elected to Parliament, he finds himself appointed Minister of Administrative Affairs, a department with its fingers in many areas of Government policy.
Sir Humphrey Appleby
Permanent Secretary. Played by: Nigel Hawthorne
An experienced Civil Servant of some 30-odd years standing, Sir Humphrey Appleby has not only gained a knighthood, but worked his way up to become the top Civil Servant in the Ministry for Administrative Affairs - it's not the most glamourous of government departments, but offers enough influence to massage his ego.
Bernard Woolley
Principal Private Secretary. Played by: Derek Fowlds
A "high flyer" in the Service - a reputation he is keen to maintain - with a propensity to correct mixed metaphors and muddled idioms, Woolley has risen quickly through the ranks to become Principal Private Secretary to the Minister for Administrative Affairs, running his private office.
Annie Hacker
Played by: Diana Hoddinott
Annie is Jim's loyal, loving, and long-suffering wife. Truth be told, she's probably far smarter than her husband; she certainly lacks the ego that political life has cultivated in him!
Frank Weisel (Series 1)
Political Advisor. Played by: Neil Fitzwilliam
Frank is the Political Advisor who helped Jim throughout his election campaign, and naturally expects to guide him through his new ministerial appointment. Sir Humphrey, however, sees different, and takes every opportunity to mispronounce "WYE-zel" in a less than flattering manner.
love the high luminosity/high exposure effect used in the early 80s

Timeless British Tailoring: Yes, Prime Minister!
The dialogue is legendary. The plots feel relevant decades later. But the clothes? They stand up after decades. Shot on videotape with a budget that wouldn’t cover the coffee budget on an episode of West Wing these suits still look like they could walk straight into Whitehall today. That’s the difference between fashion and style. Fashion dates. Proper British tailoring endures. Let's take a look at the best of British from this 1980s comedy, where the suits are no laughing matter.
