I met John Mokatjo, 89 years old as he stood in the crowd at a EFF politic party rally on Youth Day last Friday. Youth Day is a national holiday dedicated to the youth of South Africa. John said to me that he wanted to come to the event and that he sat early morning on a 2 hour drive on a touring bus with only young passengers. When they arrived at the event some youngsters said to him to stay in the bus because it was very crowded and that they were going to get him eventually. John was left behind alone in the bus and no-one came. After a while he fel asleep and missed the whole event. I saw and spoke to him when i was packing up. He was devastated. Personally, i find this an incident that reflect the entire country. A country where the new generation is on a mission. Where there is no time to take care of the old with their senile dusted values.
