My stances on certain topics:
Proship means ship and let ship, anti-censorship/anti-harrassment, fiction does not efffect reality on a 1:1 basis, and my kink is not your kink and that's okay. It does NOT mean problematic ship, it does NOT condone nonces or predators.
Com/darkship simply explores dark and taboo topics in fictional settings, which do not condone these acts in the grand scheme of things.
Paraphilias are sexual attractions towards things that are considered atypical, because the human brain, along with sex and sexuality are complicated. It is only a paraphilic disorder if it impairs your quality of life, or you feel as if you have to enact on said attractions. Thoughs do not equal actions, and a person is only a predator if real people are harmed or if real people are depicted without consent, regardless on if they are adults now.
Babies, infants, and children cannot consent, ever. Teenagers will and do have sex whether you like it or not, and the age of consent only applies if you are close in age (max 3 years) to the minor. Personally speaking, I feel like the age of consent should be higher.
If you disagree, I don't give a fuck. I implore any adult to read up on the wisdom of repugnance and examine your responses to dark topics. Silence breeds power to opressors, especially as they've been mask off in recent years. So tell your story, even if it hurts, even if it's flawed.

To be completely honest, coding has always vexed and confused me, but when I'm determined enough I will sit down and deal with the headache just to learn smth new, even if it takes hours, days even. I like fucking around with text. It's kind of my thing.
What I always found confusing about coding is that if you don't know what you're looking for, it's really hard to figure out how to get what you want, this is true in a lot of things. HTML is easy, CSS is harder but not impossible for an idiot like me.
There's like one william tutorials and resources out there about whatever effect you want to do, and the way you convert it to AO3 is basically adding a #workskin before the rest of the CSS. Simple enough.
So say for example you want to make rainbow text in your fic. You can't actually plop in the html code for that because the workskin needs to have the basis for it to run in the first place. I looked up "how do you make rainbow text in CSS for AO3" and bing bang boom got

In the html editor and it works. Recently I learned that if a fic is downloaded or put onto an e-reader, some of the fancier elements (I'm assuming anything that uses a webkit function, I'll have to test this later) will be lost on export, so that's something to take into consideration. Something I've learned to do is make a draft fic and have a skin made specifically to test features that I want to implement so I can adjust it in realtime without having to spam updates on a piece of work.
That being said, if someone can help me figure out hovertext I will worship the ground you step on.

Someone asked if writing is lonely and i had to think about it for a really long time. technically yes. you are alone in a room with made-up people and a document and a coffee that went cold an hour ago. but also there are like six characters in there with you and they all have opinions and one of them is being difficult and you're negotiating with someone who doesn't exist about a plot point that affects no one. lonely is not the word i would use. crowded, actually. it is very crowded in here.
