incredibly sorry for the black writers and directors of the previous two seasons who thought they were building something. I am so sorry that your work was not respected and now dismissed by this new season. I am so sorry that the love and care with which you crafted the characters, especially of Louis and Claudia was so resented that the current writers' room chose to dilute all. I am so sorry that you are having to see the anti blackness in full force on a formerly black led show and everything you worked on- your vision- it was all wiped off. I am so sorry to Jacob and Delainey for having to work with those scripts.
anyway i love nonlinear narratives, i love it when it's unclear where a story begins or ends, i love it when they're fragmented by recollection and perspective and record, i love it when no narrator is truly omniscient or objective or infallible however much they might wish to convince you otherwise. i love narratives that misremember their own details, that present them with equal consideration for others to evaluate and determine reality from fiction, truth from illusion; naratives that are themselves psychotic. i love narratives that double back on themselves, that go around and around in circles they can't break off from, and make no sense on a map. i love it when time is out of joint!!!
If your lover lives in Hong Kong and cannot get to Chicago, it will be necessary for you to go to Hong Kong. Perhaps you will spend your life there, and never see Chicago again. And you will, I assure you, as long as space and time divide you from anyone you love, discover a great deal about shipping routes, airlines, earthquake, famine, disease, and war. And you will always know what time it is in Hong Kong, for you love someone who lives there. And love will simply have no choice but to go into battle with space and time and, furthermore, to win.

Ceramicist Agnès Debizet’s apartment in Marais, filled with her dream-like artworks, curiosity cabinet style.
“Stop thinking about saving your fragile face. Tell us your particularized world. Make up a story. Narrative is radical, creating us at the very moment it is being created. We will not blame you if your reach exceeds your grasp. We will not blame you if your words go down in flames and nothing is left but the raw-scald. We will not blame you if, with the reticence of a surgeon’s hands, your words suture only the red places where blood might flow. We will not blame you because we know you can never do it properly: once and for all. Passion is never enough. Talent is never enough. Skill is never enough. But try. For our sake and yours. So. Forget your name in the street; tell us what the world has been to you in the dark places and in the light. Don’t tell us what to believe, what to fear. Show us belief’s wide skirt and the stitch that unravels fear’s caul. You, so blessed with occasional blindness, can speak the language that tells us what only language can: how to see without pictures. We tell ourselves stories in order to live.”
— Toni Morrison, The Nobel Lecture In Literature, 1993

sometimes the absence is more compelling. let's lack something and then feel its presence forever in the empty space where it should be.
