You are justifying generalizing people as criminal for how they were born. You are saying that the actions of people who were born with a shared trait speak on the actions of an unrelated person.

Yeah, as basic human beings we do- and SHOULD- feel the urge to protect one another.

But if someone is liable to say any number of horrible things about you, or even accuse you of behaviors you didn’t commit because of how you were born, then it’s not surprising if you feel nothing for them when they’re in duress.

I stopped holding doors open because of shit like this, and now people have the nerve to look pissed off at me if I don’t when I’m next to the door. But why the fuck would l, when it’s gotten me scars on my forearms from shielding my face against a crazed (obvious third wave) feminist who accused me of somehow “attacking her personal sanctity” because I held the gym door open for her with my head TURNED COMPLETELY AWAY, talking TO MY GIRLFRIEND OF THE TIME.

People have adopted Pence rule because the company of women is too high a liability.

At least the man hater is not shy about letting you know they hate you. While the female who falsely accuses you could be anyone.

It has gotten so bad that women are less likely to receive CPR because men don’t want to touch them. That’s horrifying and enraging but I don’t blame them in one bit.

It’s a desperate answer to a lose-lose situation. For some it practically goes against their very nature to help.

But let’s just pretend men haven’t been instinctively and selflessly running into danger even at the cost of their own lives.

But he’s said several times, with no small degree of dislike for the fact, that he feels unsafe helping a strange woman with anything, because unless there was a videocamera on him at all times, she can make whatever claims she wants about what he did, and she will be beleived, and his life will be destroyed by the press even if he’s found not guilty.

My best friend has also gotten disgusted looks and mean comments for holding doors, and has since stopped holding them, and now he gets disgusted comments and mean looks when he doesn’t. Unfortunately, you can’t fucking tell which one is the crazy bitch that’ll attack you and/or try to ruin your life out of blind hatred until they try it. So they take the safest route, the one of doing nothing so they can’t be accused.

My boyfriend won’t even be alone with a woman he doesn’t have the highest confidence in. He feels unsafe.

Like, what the fuck is wrong with all of you? That whole “I’m so scared of being accused as a rapist I avoid all women” is the dumbest fearmongeriest bullshit I’ve seen. If you think you’re that creepy then the issue is that either you’ve got little to no self esteem and a shit ton of total anxiety or a serious lack of social intelligence that’s combining with a serious lack of self awareness.

If you’re that concerned about women seeing you as a threat just fucking help them, god damn. The problem isn’t that they’re going “all ten of these men are Harvey Weinstein”, it’s that “One of these men is Harvey Weinstein and the other nine give that asshole enough social clout that none of them will stop him”.

It isnt “i’m scared of women because they falsely accuse me”, it is “i’m scared of these generalizations of men that are being encouraged for women, because they have very real consequences.”

Like if you were trying to justify fearing black people, you would be shut down in an instant, but doing the same thing to men is apparently fine. Black people have the highest violent crime rate of any race, and many gangs happen to be groups of black people. *i* lived in plenty of neighborhoods where many gangs existed. I have been shot at by black people. I know people who have been shot or killed by black people. I have seen things like murder, rape, torture, and genocide by black people. And i still know better than to fear them or assume they are criminals just because they are black. Literal prisoners of war are told that generalizing races as dangerous based on their horrific personal experiences is unhealthy (and they likely have suffered worse at the hands of thise they fear than you). They see therapists because that is unhealthy.

And how offensive would it be to tell black people or muslims that instead of getting angry at these negative generalizations that have very real consequences, that we should instead be trying to help the non black people and take responsibility for the actions of people who share nothing with us than our skin color? Not to mention you blaming just one race for violence (as you are not seeing it as a problem when men do it).

You know literally just an accusation can get your job lost, make you lose friends, cause you to get harassed, cause you to loss your job, get expelled, get doxxed, get death threats, or even get killed, right?

Out if the two, It is in fact much worse for men to be generalized as criminals, as it carries severe consequences.

Again, what you are doing is trying to justify generalizing an entire group of people as criminal for how they were born. This wasnt okay when it happen(s) to muslims, it wasnt okay when it happen(s) to black people, it wasnt okay when it happen(s) to gay people, and it isnt okay when it happens to men.
