Growing older is still being friends with a crush you had 20 years ago, who you got to make out with once and he's talked about how he didn't have the confidence to try again back then. But now he's married and you got married and he messages you from time to time and hints at that one time you made out too... And the older part is pretending like you don't want to bring it up too so you don't ruin his marriage because you DO know he does love her. And kissing you again would not be worth it.

One of my best friends dad's passed away this morning. He was one of few 2nd dads I felt I had even if I hadn't seen him in a while. Growing up, he'd call me a brat, I'd call him a bigger brat and we'd needle each other in good fun. Found out recently from my friend that he wasn't taking the best care of himself after a couple of big medical scares, but it was still a shock to see the text this morning. 😞

RIP to the Big Brat from the other Brat ❤️ Going to miss you in person, but I know you'll be around to call me a brat no matter how old I get lol
