"When people have or show any kind of sexual response, it gives sexual partners big cues about what feels good to that person. When weâre responding in a way thatâs for real, thatâs great, because paired with verbal communication about what feels good, it helps our partners learn what we like. Only responding in ways that are real is a big part of the difference between a good sex life and a crappy one.
When people fake orgasm or other sexual responses, it still gives partners those cues. It just gives them wrong cues. It tells partners you respond to something in a way that you donât, like something to a degree thatâs not real, and if they donât know youâre faking, and you also donât talk about whatâs really going on, theyâre going to tend to keep doing whatever brought about those responses because they, since you have effectively told them so or shown them so, think those are the right things to be doing to please you.
In order for your sex life to get better, and in order for you two to actually really get and be intimate sexually, he needs to know that the information you have been giving him has been wrong information. He needs for you to start giving him accurate information about what goes on with you sexually."

We're absolutely not keeping these in the tags @strollsroyce, this has been once of the hardest and most relieving/validating parts of unlearning the defensive posturing of trauma. Learning that my negative and positive reactions need to align with my desired outcomes in order to communicate and negotiate space for myself safely and effectively in relationships
I heard another video game is coming out soon
this has to stop
hey US folks, if you get a CP53E letter from the IRS and it has a QR code on it, **DO NOT USE THE QR CODE, IT'S A PHISHING SCAM TO HARVEST YOUR BANK DETAILS**. The scam letter looks almost identical to a legit CP53E letter -- the QR code is the only difference.
i just got one of these in the mail and at least one other family member did as well a month ago. the letter is about your tax refund being frozen, but i didn't get a refund this year, so that flagged it for me. but since the letter looks real i can see it fooling people.
alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

do not start gambling. go outside and locate a bug. now post it on inaturalist. bam. nature's gacha game
The "gambling" reward pathway aka the inconsistent reward pathway literally evolved for things like this! Foraging! Trying new recipes! Experimenting with a new technique while crafting! Any essential human activity that might get you something useful, but also might just make some trash.
There is nothing inherently unhealthy about that reward feeling! You can have that same feeling in a healthy way!!!! Corporations are taking advantage of it for profit, don't let them!!!!!!
Mushroom hunting! Birding! Trying a new technique in a craft you're already familiar with! Mixing random sauces in your fridge to see if any of them taste good!!!
posting this on twitter will get you put into witness protection
The magic of childhood is that you were constantly encountering new things. The best way to feel that way again is to fill your life with new experiences.

Hey did y'all ever think about that if doctors blame all fat people's medical issues on them being too fat without proper investigation and then feel justified in neglecting their medical concerns, then statistically more fat people WILL develop and potentially die from serious health issues and it might not actually be because of the fat when everything comes down to it
Fat people already thought about this obviously, I have it from the fat acceptance movement myself, but apparently this was news to my mom which is why I'm posting it
A lot of the health problems associated with fat people can also be attributed to yo yo dieting and eating disorders.
It's also super unpopular to say this, but fat people are absolutely a marginalized group in this society, and this kind of stress absolutely causes health problems
I could honestly go on.
It's always fascinating to me how basic scientific principles like "correlation does not equal causation" go right out the window when it comes to fat people.
Also, with weight being blamed as the source of so many health issues, health issues that CAUSE weight gain are more likely to be ignored while one symptom alone is honed in on.
> medical problem > unsure if it's serious or will go away on its own > sees a doctor to be sure > "why the fuck are you here. this is nothing. it will go away on its own"
> medical problem > unsure if it's serious or will go away on its own > decide to wait to not overreact > problem remains > sees doctor with concrete problem after all > "why did you wait so long. we could have done something if you had come immediately"

From the Nashville Zooâs fb page! Hereâs the petition, please please please take a moment to add your name (even if youâre not from Nashville!). If you are from Tennessee, contact your representatives and make it clear that the people do not want this data center. This is an AZA accredited zoo which is home to several species of critically endangered animals, we NEED to protect it. Make your voice heard!
âEurope is very old and America is very big.â
Colonial America, maybe.
The way Europeans talk about North America when they say it reveals everything about the way they think.
To them, history here didnât start until they arrived. Not until the so called real people with real culture and real architecture and real timelines stepped off a boat.
Everything before that gets treated like fog, like background noise, like a blank landscape waiting to be drawn on.
Like the Europeans arrived here and just found a land untouched by human hands ready for them to Manifest (European) Destiny in, instead of, like, a continent full of nations older than most European countries, with civilizations, trade routes, astronomy, agriculture, laws, stories, cities, innovations, relationships to the land that go further back than many of the languages used to belittle them.
When Europeans say âAmerica is big,â they donât even mean the actual land full of over 500 nations of distinct peoples.
They mean the unmarked page they imagine they wrote on. When they say âEurope is old,â they mean âours is the old that matters.â The implication is always that Indigenous history doesnât count as history at all, that Indigenous people were somehow outside the timeline until colonialism kicked the clock into motion.
Iâm tired of watching it walk by unchallenged and seeing it drift by unchallenged.
North America wasnât waiting to be discovered.
It wasnât empty wilderness.
It wasnât without time or culture or memory.
It was already ancient when the Europeans arrived.
Treating Indigenous people like footnotes or shadows just makes it embarrassingly obvious that a lot of Europeans still donât see them as real people with real history, real innovation, and real presence.
This continent has been old for longer than Europe has had its current borders. The only thing thatâs new here is the colonial amnesia.
