it's literally just Max taking affront that he got asked exactly the same sort of question anyone else gets asked when they lose a championship ('do you regret a mistake that cost you points, now') Lando got asked the same thing, pretty brutally, the previous year. Lewis was even asked it in 2021 re: Baku. this is a normal fucking question.

throwing Giles out of a press conference months later is child behaviour. if Max can't take a tough (but very much predictable) question then, well, maybe time to spend six months psychoanalysing whether his head is cooked.*

there are so many genuinely bad guys in that room - like let's just take one example here but literally everyone in the F1 paddock knows who Adam Cooper is. he actually advertises the teenage girl modelling agency he runs on the back window of his car for the European rounds. he has been credibly accused of grooming and is publicly and loudly vile to any woman he meets. he's still in the fucking presser though isn't he!

i actually have no idea lmao. in the past, mack’s codependent crutch has always been obvious. at shattuck, it was it cole. at steel, it was jayden. at bu, it was aiden and lane. in san jose, it’s will. even at last year’s worlds, it was adam fantilli with a side of bo.

this time, we get so little content of mack off the ice that we can’t get an idea, and during games, it’s like every other minute we’re getting another shot of mack cozying up to someone new. he and mitch recently started following each other on instagram and they’re always yapping between breaks and end warmups together, so maybe mitch? but mack is also always chatting with harley and willy and bo, and of course we all know he’s got idol heart eyes for sid, and he and davo have bonded like two unexpectedly adorable rabbits for life. plus, mack actually posted so many group shots in his instagram dump this week, which he rarely does.

does that mean the entire team is acting as his emotional support person because he really is being treated as their universally adored baby and he feels safe with all of them in turn? who knows. and we’ll probably never know, because mack will frown if he’s ever asked about it in interviews and never willingly offer up any of that information himself

But on a serious note, I am so happy that there's such a clear homage to previous shows, and that there's acknowledgement that hey, this thing this other show did, was actually fucking genius.

And although I haven't personally fallen into the Heated Rivalry obsession, it makes me so happy seeing how powerfully it has gripped people, and how new viewers are surprised at how obsessed you can get with a silly little TV show... I know, SKAM had its claws in my heart for years. It also makes me so happy that when the Heated Rivalry fans ask for other shows, similar shows, shows that can make them feel like this, the most recommended ones are usually Young Royals and SKAM.
