APPEARANCE: Sonar has a tall human body with white skin, but the head of a bat with sharp fangs, large ears, and pure white eyes. He has fluffy gray fur and a pink snout. He often wears a navy-blue suit with a red tie and black dress pants.... Yes, he has a tail, Jesus. 🤦
When transformed into his Megabat form, Sonar resembles a massive hulking bat-like creature, standing several times larger than the average human. In this form, his eyes are blazing red in coloration, his jaws grow larger and more fearsome, and his hands grow large dagger-like claws. Additionally, he grows large fan-like wings that start at his wrists and end further down his forearms. When not in flight, these wings can be folded while Sonar is walking/crawling or standing
PERSONALITY: On a surface level, Sonar is arrogant; he takes a lot of pride in the fact that he is a Harvard graduate and, according to his colleagues, cannot stop talking about this fact. He is also aloof. When he fails missions, he claims he wasn't trying as hard. However, Sonar still cares about others, not just Malevola, like siding with other members to cut Invisigal when Chase gets hospitalized, and claiming to eat someone if Waterboy is dead when rescuing him. Additionally, he knows when to drop his ego, such as thanking Robert for keeping him in the Z-Team despite it being hard to voice out.
In short...he is laid-back, arrogant, shifty, and opportunistic. (but this is more than oversimplified.)
QUICK PAUSE FOR INFO ON HIS DRUG USE/REHABILITATION: Sonar seems to take rehabilitation at the SDN to heart.
Sonar is a frequent user of cocaine and other illicit substances and is open about this fact to those around him, and while he is trying to get better with encouragement from Malevola, and also to truly move over to a clean slate as a hero. However, needless to say he takes so many that he considers it a part of himself, and withdrawals are hard. He has trouble fully committing because of multiple factors, such as withdrawals, and the idea that it is just apart of who he is and will always be what people see him as- Nick Wilde type shit. “If they are only ever going to see a Fox as shifty and untrustworthy, there’s no point in trying to be anything else.”
He’s always been seen as the perverted, dangerous, drug addicted, Hybrid freak. (yay childhood trauma!)
Background: Little is known about Sonar’s past, but what is known is mostly information from his criminal records and personal accounts from before that.
Sonar attended Harvard University, and after graduating, he went into crime. He orchestrated some of the most effective Silicon Valley investment frauds in US history. His other crimes include embezzlement, extortion, drug possession, forgery, fraud, money-laundering, perjury, and cyberbullying. During this period, he also became addicted to a variety of controlled substances.
Joining Superhero Dispatch NetworkAt some point in time, Sonar was convicted and incarcerated at California State Prison in Los Angeles County, before he was identified as an ideal candidate by SDN for their experimental Phoenix Program. His custody was then transferred to the Torrance branch in California HQ, under conditional probation after several financial negotiations. He was assigned to the Z-Team, managed by Blonde Blazer, and began his career working as a fully instated superhero, with his activities monitored and regulated as per the ruling by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. It seems prior to Robert joining SDN Sonar began attempting to break into Torrance SDN employees' accounts, spamming employees' emails and even somehow adding an option to enter into the new subscriber extension for the Torrance branch's automated phoneline to fund his latest crypto scheme: a blockchain investment called "Screech Coin."
Sonar is autistic as fuck. He fails to understand jokes, when Robert Robertson introduces himself just for his team to laugh at his name, which Sonar starts repeating "Robert Robertson" to attempt to comprehend what's funny about Robert's full name.
As a result of his Chiropteran physiology, Sonar enjoys eating insects and small mammals such as rats, though he is also capable of eating human food like Twinkies and tacos.
He occasionally needs to scream or makes beeping sounds to identify his surroundings via echolocation.
Sonar would argue that Twinkies can be better than crack cocaine.

* Megabat Physiology: Sonar can further transform into a giant, monstrous bat, though he is unable to control when. In this form it’s a roll of the dice to just how sentient he is in that form. Sometimes he can communicate in that form, sometimes he goes non-verbal. This form can be especially dangerous if he transformed during particularly strong emotions, in that case he can become much more hostile and dangerous.
* Echolocation: using sound waves to see things around him.
* Sonic Scream: Sonar can scream at objects that can be easily destroyed by it.
* Flight: Gaining wings in his Megabat form, Sonar becomes capable of flight.
