By the time rabies becomes symptomatic, it is already too late, and the only treatment that is 100% effective all of the time is palliative care.

Symptoms of rabies in animals include; hydrophobia, excessive salivation resulting in foaming of the mouth, agitation, poor motor control (in bats, this can include inability to fly), increased biting/attempting to bite, and abnormal daylight activity in nocturnal animals.

If you witness these symptoms, contact animal control in your area and do not approach or handle the animal; if you have handled a smaller animal, like a bat, it is, again, imperative you get post-exposure rabies vaccination, as bats are capable of breaking skin with bites with no visible bite marks or bleeding.

For anybody who missed it, Imane Khelif is a professional boxer who became the target of massive transmisogynistic violence after being accused of being trans/intersex. She is not transgender, and there's no evidence that she is intersex. These facts have not stopped the ongoing violence toward her.

Moreover, the fact that Imane Khelif is not a trans woman played in her favor for the entire controversy. At every step, there were people pointing out that she is not a trans woman, and that those attacking her on the basis of her being a trans woman are factually incorrect.

A trans woman does not have that. A trans woman in the same position does not have a way to exempt herself from transmisogyny by appealing to her cis womanhood, intersex or not. This is what "TME" is pointing to as a term. It's not the idea that you will never have your life influenced by systemic transmisogyny, it's that you have a way to exempt yourself from targeted transmisogyny, that you have an out you can appeal to. It's that when you can convince those targeting you with transmisogyny that you are not a trans woman, they let up.
