also can i ask. when did bachelorette parties being entire weekends long and requiring you to leave town become a thing. i agreed to go to jake's friend's wife's bachelorette party (yes they are already married but theyre having a second wedding a year later no i dont get it either) only to find out it is 4 hours away in michigan and i was required to pay $185 for the airbnb. not to mention the cost of the activities we will apparently be doing. what is happening man let's just do drunk karaoke or go to the ren faire or smth what is with the ordeal

I'm just going to say it - body hair (and beauty standards in general) is truly one of the final frontiers of women's issues in the West. Too many women just love their gilded cage too much. It shocks me how virulently women will defend it. I barely open my mouth and the "well I like how it feels. it just makes me feel cleaner. sensory issues. I do it for me. feminism is about choosing (to conform)." brigade come rushing in by the dozens.

Well I don't like how it feels. I don't feel cleaner without body hair. I don't prefer not having body hair. But who will advocate for women like me, but me? For women who do like hair removal, they are advocated for every time they step out of the house and see 99% of the female population also conforming to that standard, or when they watch a movie and see all the shaved actresses, or view an advertisment, or open a magazine, or watch a music video, or scroll through social media, or walk down the streets without receiving insults and glares for having a completely normal bodily feature.

You genuinely can't even point out that hairlessness is a man-made standard without women losing their shit and acting like they are totally immune to propaganda they've been exposed to from birth. I'm so tired.

i started reading a book yesterday and so many of the things about lgbt/"progressive" fiction that irk me are exemplified in it. i will probably finish it so i can confidently and knowledgably critique it but it is so annoyinggg

something that kind of sums up what makes me want to bang my head against a wall about these kinds of things is the female main character in a setting like this one is always like "yeah im not straight. i had sex with a woman once. and then immediately began to dislike her. anyway i will only mention men for the rest of the story" and this ISNT about bisexual women ceasing to be bisexual when they get with a man, this is about an AUTHOR wanting to avoid criticism on her het main pairing and putting in a single line she can forget about until someone calls it a boring straight romance so she can go "no she's BISEXUAL. she had SEX WITH A WOMAN. disregard that this has no bearing on the character, her identity, or her thoughts."

#i will be dragged through the mud for this no doubt. or would be if i had more than 40 followers.#and again this isnt about having sex with a woman once not being enough to call yourself bisexual. you can have never had sex w a woman and #be bisexual. the difference is that you as a person think about that bisexuality at least sometimes whereas characters in these books ignore #all women and any connection they may have to them so they can gnash their teeth about a man they hate for 3/4 the book #t
