u couldnt make ninjago today . it would take way longer than one day.

this may be a controversial opinion, but cole is the only ninja that i can imagine ever being a parent.

seeing many art posts of skybound era jay annoying cole abt his nya related troubles and resisting the urge to erm actially in the tags about how that is like so blatantly inaccurate. like. he would go to zane. that is what he does in the show he only confides in zane over this and deliberately keeps it away from cole. this was a whole plot thread in the season. im losing it

feeling this again instead with mudshock posts wherein nya is shown as annoyed while jay and cole make out or some shit. guys shes literally the day 1 original bruise shipper. helllooooo

I have to say. there is something incredibly aromantic about a character who is obsessed with love. like yes of course I will headcanon a character who is perfectly content being single as aromantic but. when a character focuses so much of themselves around the concept of love… to the point where it’s this behemoth idea of just wanting to be cared for… to me that is someone who has bought heavily into amatonormative because they don’t believe they can have fulfilling relationships any other way and are hashtag aromantic

something about how nyas relationship to her element is written throughout the series makes me feel a little bit crazy sometimes i cant lie .

like once the writers decide they actually want her to be a ninja/EM, they make her so reluctant towards it. she refuses to accept this new role, its forced onto her. she can only meaningfully contribute to the team right now through learning to control water. she has to give up the identity she formed for herself via samurai x. and then in the following seasons she still has hangups. yeah shes slowly accepting her new role but is also clinging onto the old one in the ways she can. by the oni triology shes just comfortably part of the team, yay, good for her! then the wildbrain seasons come around, and actually theyve decided now that nyas entire self worth is placed on her powers. shes scared that without them shes nothing. being the water ninja has overtaken her identity. and boom, seabound, all of the sudden nya is forced into a whole ordeal with her powers again. shes a danger to everyone around her for a while. everything goes out of her control. we learn about nyad, the first ever master of water, and her sacrifice. nya was literally named after her. and now she meets the same fate. she has to give herself up to save the day. the water literally consumes her. she starts to forget who she was before this point. what the fuck ever
