Is it just be or do jack and crutchie kinda swap mindsets over the course of newsies. the first song is jack literally fantasising about santa fe while crutchie is more grounded, but in santa fe (the one at the end of act I) it’s Jack who recognises that he’s stuck and that santa fe is just a fantasy and in letter from the refuge crutchie (despite his much worse situation) stays optimistic about a better life. no just me? ok

Jack re-reading Crutchies letter as its the only thing he has left of the boy whilst hes in the refuge

It brings him comfort. At least Crutchie’s still fighting, still himself. He held the pen, he held the paper - he held the words.. and to Jack its as if he’s holding his boys hand once more..

It’s his favourite thing to read, even if it makes him tear up every time.

punk crutchie headcanons!

some of his favorite bands are: the cranberries, mommy long legs, le tigre, and the rat utopia experiment!

EVERYTHING he wears has patches on it

pastel punk boi

dyed the tips of his hair rainbow but actually ended up hating it so he just stuck to blonde

he did also try pink ghost roots but he didn't love that either

oh! and speaking of hair, he has shaved sides so he has a part mullet part mohawk kinda thing

lots and lots of kandi! he makes it for all his friends and is super good at it too!! (i'm talking bags and circus cuffs level good)

honestly tries out so many aesthetics before landing on pastel punk specifically but it's what resonates with him the most (fashion-wise and politically) so it is what sticks

not very good at makeup but he's trying and he's getting better!

piercings wise he has his firsts, industrial (only on one side tho), septum, and medusa piercings

his crutches/cane(s) are decked out too, in stickers, glitter, paint, etc.

dabbles in learning the bass guitar

owns a few different tails but doesn't wear them that often

has a seemingly infinite bag of everything you could ever need ever that he carries with him: he is always prepared

works part-time at the library and a coffee shop, respectively
