FOREBODING SAILS

"I never did think I would have to keep a weather eye open, for vampires and humans worked together to make the island a small home to whoever came across. My fate is something I knew was in due course, and not once will I think of the people as my enemies, they were just afraid."

Louis was a well known vampire pirate on Oakhursts Archipelago, more so a captain to a crew that is now long gone, respectful and kind to any and all. Not an inch of hate could slip through that man's mind. He even went as far as to help someone infected with the curse, turning them to save their life, to save both of their shared love. A shame that he faced accusations of releasing such a horrid fate to Oakhurst, his own death being something nobody dared speak of, for if it was spoken, it was like some connecting curse. Now Louis remains as a wandering soul on these lands, forgotten by the people he cherished.

Vampire pirates, now that is such a fun interesting idea!! And for Louis of all characters!! I can sort of see that working though, with like Louis stealing from the greedy people and giving supplies to the people who actually need it– and he does so with as little harm to anyone involved as possible! It can certainly lead to a reputation of being a good pirate. And maybe Oakhurst is a particular island, who either supports such pirate behavior or not. Maybe Louis wants to settle down from his usual work for a while, and doesn't exactly become a mayor but even just helping around a particular area for a while could work! But of course, for the angsty route of this, the island townspeople do not like a pirate– even a nice one, by all standards– helping them with anything.

And Owen can be someone from this island who is generally shunned by everyone on it, either he also has an illness here or something else. But Louis is the only one to show him genuine kindness, maybe taking him on his ship sometimes to sail around and show him the beauty that the sea can hold. But then of course, the same such events occur. The island townspeople either have enough and drag Louis to a pyre, or maybe they force him to walk the plank far out in the sea where even if he can swim well cannot make it to any land before exhaustion would force him to stop. Owen could become a ruthless pirate– entirely ruining Louis's good pirate name in his blind rage and grief.

And idk actually if this would still have vampires... like this could entirely be a human pirate AU instead. Or maybe there's other supernatural aspects, maybe sirens instead of pirates, other sea creatures and curses!! Maybe ghosts that stick around for longer and can only be seen when the mists out on the sea are high– maybe something else. (Scott could so be an ancient siren cursed to sleep on land or something– maybe Louis was a siren as well, and he used his voice for good, only for things to turn on him in the end and he lost his voice from it all... idk)

And oh wow, I did? I really was just going off with my own ideas based off the vibes mostly– but very cool!! (Oooh actually Oakhurst being archipelago is very interesting!! And oh my gosh– are the different islands were the beacons will be??? That would be so interesting!!) I mean even though the original source is vampires, when puttung them into a different AU one can make many changes to things– so why not have it be sirens instead of vampires? What interesting things could be gotten from that? And it still works if it's an idea of sirens where they can gain human legs and walk on land as well!! They have to hide their non-human features, sharp teeth, luring voice, all of that! And such an idea could have all kinds of other magic as well and possible curses!! And there's ideas of sirens being able to turn humans into sirens as well– or just drown them– but even that is another possible reference to vampire stuff! Or indeed, it could be just vampires as pirates at sea as well lol. That can also be a very cool idea.

Honestly if I was met face to face with a pretty Siren with a beautiful voice that looks majestic, I would fall too, I can't at all blame Owen for the actions (Can't blame him regardless if Louis is a vampire pirate or a Siren HAHA)

Avid being a siren is also a very cool idea!! I just love the concept of sirens in general and all the possible lore that can be made with them!!!
