JOIN THE 212TH ATTACK BATTALION!!!!!
â â NOW RECRUITING ââ
itâs never a normal temperature anymore itâs always some fucking bullshit
I need you young people to know it was almost never this hot when I was a child. Millennials and Gen Xers are all nostalgic and excited about summer because it was about ten to twenty degrees cooler to experience it back then!
I cannot express to you how FAST it has gone. I grew up in a world that does not exist now. We're starting on the path to reverse it, globally. You might not know how much solar has EXPLODED in the last decade or two. It's gone from a side thing, a weirdo novelty that was just Not Viable... to whole countries investing in infrastructure. but we have to keep fighting big oil and fascism everywhere we can in order to keep on this road to a new better less scorching burning earth.
But any time you wonder wtf the weather is doing- THIS IS NOT NORMAL, NO. THIS IS NOT WHAT IT WAS EVEN TWENTY YEARS AGO.
How is Kenobi!!! (The book, not the guy)
itâs PEAK - although I still donât know why he brought a baby into a bar đ
Some lil doodles of him in his hermit desert eraâŚ
anyway for being called kenobi I wish there was more from his pov đ although maybe that changes further in

A couple more driftwolves (available on my kofi as adoptables!)
I turn 30 next month so hereâs what I learned in my 20s:
âdonât work for startups, theyâre always one âinnovative ideaâ away adding âsell your kidneys on the black marketâ to your job description.
âkeeping a collection of basic OTC medicine on you will save your life one day. I recommend Advil, Imodium, and TUMS.
âthose little single-use glasses cleaning wipes are 1000% worth the money
âoverly self-depreciating jokes just make people uncomfortable, wean yourself off of them
âyou can buy dehydrated mini marshmallows in bulk online and theyâre a godsend for hot cocoa
âpeople donât care if you have fidget toys on your desk they just want to play with them
âtry to go to bed BEFORE the existential ennui kicks in
Also drink water and eat a plant
This is all GREAT. I turned 40 last week, so permit me to add what I learned in my 30s:
keep on not working for startups
sometimes there comes a point where the thing (fandom, hobby, friendship, romantic relationship) you loved no longer brings you joy. And that's okay. Try to mourn the loss, take joy in the memories, and don't burn any bridges in case ten years go by and you find yourself back in that fandom/hobby/relationship again
it turns out that (ugh) moderate regular exercise is (spit) good for you. The sooner you make it part of your life, the easier it'll be
related: if you throw yourself into a new exercise regime too hard and too fast, without stopping to rest or consider whether a particular move is good for you ... well, shoulder injuries are painful and consults with orthopedic surgeons are expensive
knees are bastards too
don't even get me started on ankles
there may come a time when your digestive system is too fragile for ibuprofin. I'm sorry
one day you're gonna wake up and realise you no longer give any fucks about some things that used to bother you
on the other hand, you might be alarmed to realise what you still give a fuck about
never get down on the floor without an exit strategy for getting back up
I turn 50 this year. what I have learned in my 40s:
"loving yourself" is less of a feeling and more of an action. you can start doing it any time and it will make your life better and better as you go on
this will happen incrementally - be patient
along those lines, if you haven't started making an active effort to quit shit-talking yourself, suck it up and do it
no, shut up. do it. "but it's haaaaard!" don't care. do it.
whether you like it or not, you are mortal and you need to go to the doctor for an annual checkup
stretch regularly - your future self will thank you
at some point you will encounter people much younger than you arguing passionately and incorrectly about history you personally remember and experienced
this will be infuriating and annoying
otoh, most other things just... will not matter to you as much
at some point you will shift from wanting to go out to being like "eh" and deciding to stay in. this is okay.
you will have absolutely no idea what The Youth are talking about and you will not care
but if you keep your mind open to new ideas you'll never be irrelevant
your company still doesn't love you - don't give them more than they pay you for
get a fucking hobby, especially a hobby that involves physically creating/handling something and/or moving your body in physical space. it will do you more good than you can imagine
Just turned 60 and let me say:
Find joy, every kind, it's always worth it
I'm talking that massive, never-ending Discord chat with your bestie? The one that makes you giggle through the day? It's not a "waste of time," it's what time was made for
If that's fanfic for your favorite characters who never even met on screen celebrate that!
If that's building a tiny fleet of snake villagers for your snake town and they just cover your mantel hell yes!
If that's collecting pillows and making a fort of them every weekend I'll be right over
Feeling and sharing joy is the whole point
This is too temptingâŚ, so, Iâm 74, and: donât fund startups
Please keep stretching and exercise enough NOT to need an elaborate strategy to get up from the floor. IT MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE
Say bye to your employer as early as you possibly can, unless you really love your job. You wonât be sorry.
Keep doing the annual checkups đđź
Enjoy that fucking hobby youâve acquired in your 50, or find something new. Do try new things & adventures.

Youâre a good person Luke and wanting something better in life doesnât make you a bad person. Itâs just normal.
OMGG MARA JADE MENTIONED IN THE YEAR 2026
Her other superpower is fashion sense
My Adventures With a Dog(?)Â
The Jedi Council in the Prequels was Supposed to be Frustrating
Just watched a review of the prequels, and the complaint was made that the movie was bad because the Jedi Council was awful, that they were âd*cksâ who did nothing. I was stupefied; thatâs one of the better aspects of the prequels! The Jedi were stagnant, arrogant, and narrow-minded. This contributed to their fall. Of course Yoda was awful; he was supposed to be awful! He was supposed to be old and set in his ways. Itâs nothing new; he called Luke âtoo oldâ as well. The hints of the truth of the arrogance of the old Jedi Order is in the OT. Why are you complaining about something in the prequels that is actually done fairly well? Why?
#they complain because they wanted them#to be what Obi-Wan promised #theyâre supposed to be#Guardians of peace & justice #why are they actually just dicks#the good guys are supposed to be stalwart and pure#now we have to empathize with Anakin #and heâs just supposed to be pure evil (Tags by @redrikki)
This makes sense, I suppose, but wasnât what you described the whole point of the prequels? That Darth Vader had once been a nice guy, and a very good friend to Obi-Wan? (Who is a very biased narratorâŚ) But Anakin fell to the Dark Side, and was lost? Ergo, it is a tragedy, because a good person became something truly evil? I mean, if we donât even sympathise with the man, why are we going to rejoice (twice-over) when Luke saves him? Moreover, totalitarian dictatorships have historically, consistently come out of chaos due to poor economic and/or governmental systems. Therefore, it can hardly be surprising that the Empire came out of a time of distinct arrogance and moral greyness. The logic, to me, is truly baffling: They may loathe the prequels for not being what they expectedâŚbut then what were they expecting?
What were people expecting? Lucas addressed this:
âWell, when I said I was going to do the prequels, everybody said, âThatâs great, we get to see Darth Vader kill everybody.â And I said, âThatâs not the story.â When I announced that the first story was going to be about a nine-year-old boy, everybody here said, âThatâs insane, youâre going to destroy the whole franchise [âŚ] And I said, âYeah, but this is the story.â â âGeorge Lucas
and:
âPeople expected Episode III, which is where Anakin turns into Darth Vader, to be Episode I. And then they expected Episodes II and III to be Darth Vader going around cutting peopleâs heads off and terrorizing the universe. But how did he get to be Darth Vader? You have to explore him in relationships, and you have to see where he started.â âGeorge Lucas
To those of us who actually love and appreciate the Prequels as they are, it may sound nuts, but so many fans back then legitimately expected (or perhaps just wanted) those films to be about âDarth Vaderâ *as* Vader, and to just show him hunting down the Jedi the whole time. Far too many fanboys just wanted to see Vader being a âbadassâ on-screen, while still maybe having a smattering of cool Jedi heroes to mindlessly root for. For some reason, many viewers had missed the entire point of RotJ and didnât seem to realise that Anakin Skywalker was a good person and someone for whom we were supposed to feel pity and empathy. So they couldnât understand why we were being shown his childhood and why the Jedi were being so harsh and cold to him. Surely it must just be because he was âevil all along or somethingâ, no way we might actually be meant to be question the Jediâs treatment of himâŚđ

âThat is the kind of fear that lives inside Anakin Skywalker: the dragon of that dead star. It is an ancient, cold dead voice within his heart that whispers all things dieâŚâ
Do you think Anakin and Qui-gon would have been a headache for the separatists
Most definitely. Even though he's not as extreme as anakin, qui-gon's unorthodox thinking would've been a pain in the ass to deal with (for both sides, let's be honest đ).
Jokes aside though, qui-gon is probably even much troublesome for the seperatist because unlike anakin who's all "screw the plan", he is actually good at planning and strategizing. And canon wise, qui-gon has quite a lot of battlefield experience during his padawan years (thanks to dooku).
Regardless, I would love to see anakin & qui-gon wreak havoc on the battlefield lol
