Chris, you had Yaz's sister ask Ryan the same question in the same episode, and in both cases it was out of the blue because you did nothing at all to make it look like Yaz had any kind of relationship with either character beyond. You put these lines in because you clearly just watched some old RTD episodes and thought that this was the expected of a companion's family, but in previous instances they were given something to fuel their speculation. Rose disappeared for a year with a man she'd just met. Martha brought the Doctor as her literal date to a party. You didn't slow burn this, you threw in some lines without proper set up and then did nothing until the very end of your era and half arsed a confirmation so shippers would feel validated and you wouldn't have to do anything else except get praise you didn't deserve for doing barely the bare minimum.

Has been hilarious watching so many of the worst people online losing their fucking minds over this movie being a hit, being smashed over the head with how out of touch and truly inconsequential they are. They thought they had influence, that they could shape public opinion on this, and are now struggling to cope in the most absurd ways with their own irrelevance.
