I don't think Doctor Who really needs radical reinvention. The classic formula (2-3 people have adventures in time and space) shas always been so adaptable to the changing times which is why they never really strayed from it. The biggest shake up the sow ever did was Three's exile and even that was just a case of the show doing 'The War Machines' and 'The Invasion' every week. The show has never really changed what it does, just how it does it since TV is an ever evolving format. It doesn't been reinvention, but it does need a shake up, a fresh approach to make the show feel more contemporary and connect with new audiences, it can't just keep chasing after 2005 or pandering to Classic Who fans.
