like sure you can read shane coming out to ilya in florida as a confession of love or whatever you want that’s fine. but i read it like shane being like “you don’t understand i am stuck HERE. this right here is my entire life, this is all it’s ever going to be!! hotel rooms like this are the only thing i will ever get.” except ilya hears “i think maybe i like having sex with men” and laughs at him. so then shane says “fuck you you’re not gay” meaning “fuck you, YOU have a way out of this one”
