do you plan on cross posting your Hudson Williams art on Twitter ? If not would be it okay to post with credit or just post a ss of your account w/ link ?
I don’t think I’ll be posting on twitter anymore unfortunately :( but I’m okay with you sharing screenshots as long as you credit me properly!
your stuff is stunning, dude!
it's somehow both really life-like and also full of your own style, so it is instantly recognizable

hi!!! i'm amazed at your art and was wondering if you'd mind doing a process walkthrough/explanation of how you did your recent hollanov eye art? i'm in awe of how you rendered their eyes + curious as to how you did it and what layer you used for the noise/texture effect!!
(also so curious how you get the watercolour-esque effect on your other hollanov/hudson/connor art because it's so beautiful)
Hi! Thank you so much for your kind words <3 <3 And ofc, I love yapping about art process so I'd be happy to give you a walkthrough of sorts!! Apologies for the wall of text to follow 😂
For reference, I use Clip studio Pro on the iPad for all my artwork and the process always looks something like this : base colours -> "blush" layer on skin -> block shading + highlights -> details -> filters+colour correction
After the block shading is done I merge everything into a single layer and work primarily with a translucent brush and blurring tool to refine the details. I think the translucent brush + blurring tool combo is what gives the watercolour-like feel in some of my works? Also, my goal is to achieve a somewhat "light and airy" feel in the final work so I usually leave some things unpolished and also avoid over-rendering details if possible - I think that also adds to the "watercolour-esque" vibes.
For the noise/texture effect at the end I use the built-in effects on Clip studio Pro, namely the chromatic aberration effect plus the grain effect. The grain effect can also be done manually by creating an empty layer on top -> adding Perlin noise filter -> setting the layer to overlay. I usually try both methods to see which one I like better lol
And in case you were curious about how I render eyes specifically:
Honestly there's not much to it lol but I'd say that the key things are 1) blurring the hard edges and 2) using add or glow dodge layers for the highlights! I also love adding hints of fun colours in the iris.
I hope this answered your questions!! <3
