“Why, thank you for noticing!” Grinning, Chiaki playfully winked at Yejun. “You’re pretty cute too, so it’s not like I can just lean back and not bring my best game, no?” She enjoyed the praise and attention—it wasn’t like she hadn’t learnt that making her sense of self-worth dependent on other people’s attention was detrimental, but if she didn’t enjoy being fawned over at least a little bit what was she, if not majorly misplaced in the idol industry?
Delighted that Yejun seemed to have been keeping up with what Equinox had been getting up to, Chiaki shimmied along to his voice. “Aw, bummer you can’t join us for a performance! Looks like you’re all good to tiki taka along if you ask me! I’d show you the dance moves too, if you needed someone to tutor you.” She shrugged and reached over to steal a bite of chocolate, nevermind that she’d brought the treat along as a gift for him. She’d make it up to him in some other way.
“I think that still sounds like quite a busy day,” she added, shifting to have a better look at Yejun’s face. “Are you excited for the song? I won’t ask you for details, don’t worry, just… an emotional preview, so to say? Is the Japanese comeback Hwang Yejun-approved?” Chiaki propped her cheek against her palm, a friendly smile on her face. “Did you write your cats a paternal love song? I feel like that’s not something people do often enough, considering how beloved pets can be…”
Not for the first time, Chiaki caught herself feeling a little envious. Sure, she didn’t feel like she was missing a pet, exactly, Equinox was kept pleasantly busy and she liked the independence of being able to come and go as she pleased in her spare time. She did, however, feel a little jealous when thinking of that kind of companionship. Being single was fine, that wasn’t really much of a big deal, as evidenced by her arrangement with Yejun, whatever physical needs she had were well taken care of. But she could imagine coming home to a pet had to be rewarding and comforting. “How are the kitties? Can you tell them I miss them when you get home today?”
chiaki's playful nature was always something yejun appreciated, it was one that hat initially attracted him to her, " i am turning thirty next year chiaki. i shouldn't be cute at this point. doesn't lethally attractive suit me better? " yejun strikes a playful but charismatic pose but he ends up cracking his famous eye-smile instead, which fans all had agreed was a national treasure that needed to be insured.
" you want to see me dance tiki taka? i think your fans would be disappointed if i did, i don't think they'd appreciate it. " yejun did keep up with what the groups of his friends were releasing; what kind of friend would he be if he didn't do that much? " if you teach me though, i might reconsider learning the dance for it. "
yejun sees her reaching for the chocolate and chuckles before taking a quick bite of it for himself, " you have to be faster than that. "
" it has been busier than most of my days, " he nods slowly as he thinks of the japanese comeback this time around he purses his lips, overall it doesn't feel groundbreaking but it is a decent comeback for them as a group. although yejun would much rather have a korean comeback, " it is alright, i think we have had better releases but i don't have much say in our japanese releases. unfortunately, we recorded a few korean releases in japanese though which i am sure the japanese fans will appreciate. "
" if i could, i would dedicate an an entire mini album to my cats, write one song for each of the cats, " he nods firmly, it is something he is half-joking about and half-serious. if goldstar would let him release something like that, he would be having all the fun with it. it was a known fact that yejun adored his cats, it is why he doesn't mind being single as much because his house always feels lively no matter what he does, " they are great, i had to take thor to the vet the other day because he wasn't eating. he was just constipated. he is fine now though. "
yejun pulls up his phone and shows chiaki a picture of the cat at the veterinary, " he hated every second and ignored me for a little when we got home, but it was for his best, and i think he knows that, " yejun smiles at the female, " i will let them know, i will even show them your fancam so they can watch you on stage and then send you the video if i get them to watch it, " the thought itself makes yejun chuckle, the cats don't even watch their dad perform on stage but something told him they might take an interest in chiaki on the tv.
