honestly, jaein doesn’t know how duri does it. actually, she doesn’t know how anybody does it. writing music? sounds like a whole lot of work that she’d never want to do. doesn’t help that people are overly critical about every release these days which means that most songwriters are more likely to receive criticism over praise.

however, she also knows that duri’s written some songs that sound completely different from the songs ultraviolet sing, and she thinks that maybe, just maybe, a change would be appreciated. for her, at least. she’s not entirely sure about their fans. they seem to latch onto anything they release. 

“like can you imagine me singing something like chimatbaram? i can’t, but i think it could be fun.” does she completely mean it? not really because, admittedly, she’s not a big fan of the song she just name dropped, but it is a fun situation to imagine.

taking a peak inside her own goodie bag, suji couldn’t help but smile upon seeing the merchandise she helped design. it had come out looking so much better than her sketches and plans, and she’s forever thankful for the many staff members who took part in making it come true. knowing duri, she wasn’t all too surprised to find his to be a pot. their two items kind of went well together with her having designed a tea cup set. 

“people are going to think we came up with our ideas together or something,” she says rather jokingly before looking up to take a look around the gift shop. there were other things on sale, but nothing she thinks she’d spend her own money on. interesting stuff for fans, sure, but she’s not sure if she was the target audience for any of them. the vouchers and coupons she got will probably be going to friends as well. she doubts she’ll use them, really. 

“wow, this place...” how could one person use so much space? “it’s, wow, it’s really beautiful here. though, it doesn’t feel very you, you know?” perhaps she was projecting her own moralistic views on duri because she considered them to be very similar people, but, “you seem like you’d like just enough space for the pups to run around, but not much more. and you’re such a good cook! maybe you and the chef can have a little competition.” she chuckled at her own joke, especially knowing the result would always fall on the professional, no matter how nice of a home cook duri was.

sung took another couple of steps, and at a turn, gasped. her eyes had locked onto the window, and carried her forward to it. “look at this view! gosh, it’s so beautiful. that’s the real selling point of this place. gosh, i could get lost looking at this forever.”

this felt like the first time in a really long time that minhee could forget he was an idol and just focus on other matters that he didn’t get to otherwise. he wasn’t the nosy type, at least not for these situations, but he didn’t see why he should miss the opportunity to get to know duri better. after the sudden announcement jake made to his face quite a few months ago, minhee has been so fucking happy for the two of them. so it started with a small text of congratulations in duri’s direction, and from then onwards he made the effort to properly keep a conversation going, despite the huge time difference.

click, says the camera. not really -- the camera shutter sounds on dowoon’s phones are, of course, totally artificial. cameras these days, phone or otherwise, didn’t make such obnoxious noises. though, dowoon kinda liked the ones that did. he has an old 1990s 600 type polaroid lying around at his parents’ house that he wants to pick up, to bring on his and jaein’s eventual camping trip, but that’ll have to wait. for now he has to be content with posing for his stupid phone, on these stupid stairs, backstage at this dumbass concert -- advertising a megacorp he has no interest in to his followers and to the wider airscape of k-pop fans. but, he’ll live. he understands that marketing is just the name of the game. if he hadn’t become a trainee and ended up where he is now, he probably would have ended up as a sign-holder on the street, doing the exact same advertising job, just on the bottom rung of it. 

he wonders if his jaw looks particularly square set, if his eyes look particularly disillusioned in the pictures duri takes. dowoon takes a deep breath through his nose and tries to bring himself back to the present, back to the stupid concert, and hooks his thumbs into his belt... oh fuck. 

there’s a reason joohyun is pretty bad at the average variety. as much as she’s a friendly person, someone who enjoys interacting with others, she finds it painfully awkward to have to speak to someone she’s not familiar with while also having to be minimally entertaining. but dimensions is gunning for her to put herself out there more, to participate in these opportunities set up by the companies as a way to get her name out there more — nothing more appropriate for publicity than to have her name tangled with idols who are more famous and more dear than her, in a non controversial way.

not yet at least. “i don’t know if you helped with lines but i thank you for the ones i have.” not too many, just enough. she could be seen when she needed to be seen and fade into the background once it was time. “i even like the little dance we do.” she mimicked the arm movements. it looked a little strange but it was fun in the context of the stage. 

It may have come as a surprise to most people because of the vibe he gave off as well as his very vocalized love of rock music, but Daisuke was an avid lover of girl groups, some of his favorites being ones who executed the cute concept very well. He enjoyed a wide range of concepts, none more than the other, but there was something addictive about a bubblegum pop song that Daisuke’s ears and brain couldn’t resist. One of his all time favorite girl groups would have to be Cloud’s little sister group, Candy. He’d been a fan ever since their debut a year and a few months after his own with Cloud, and he doubted anything about that would be changing any time soon. 

His love of Candy had led him to picking to cover one of their songs for the Base Online project - one of his favorite songs from them, What is Love? It was a song that Daisuke found surprisingly deep, especially the chorus. The lyrics weren’t particularly out of this world, but the message and emotion behind it was certainly there. Singing the song with Duri had come about not too long after he made the decision to cover the song, and he was glad that he had someone else to perform it with. Plus, on the bright side, Duri was one of his favorite vocalists in the industry, so it was going to be a fun experience for him no matter what.
