Okay so I know the reason that Owen in the show didnât have like, scars/burn marks etc. was probably due to not having time for the makeup between costume changes, but I was trying to think of an in universe reason and I landed on one I like so
What if the fall didnât really hurt Owen that much? Maybe got the wind knocked out of him, a broken rib or leg, something that would make him unable to escape by himself so the russians grab him on their way out. But not fatal, not even close. So Curt leaving him to die hurts even more because he would have slowly burned there as he tried to crawl himself out. The fear of knowing he probably wouldnât make it, that he could make it if he had just a bit more time or hadnât broken his leg or something, would be so much worse. Or maybe he could have gotten out himself but he was slowed by the minor injury so the Russians caught him on the way out.
And Curt wouldnât have the âI thought Owen died on impactâ excuse, at least in Owenâs mind, âcause to him the fall wasnât even close to fatal so how could Curt have possibly thought that? At least if Owen had nearly died from the fall then thereâs plausible deniability for Curt
