my friends have a cat who self identifies as a "boy" and uses he/him pronouns

we know this because he is owned by two lesbians who don't have very many he/him friends, so when they say "he" or "him" or "boy" they're usually referring to their cat, so their cat has started responding whenever somebody says "boy" or "he" by running up and looking at them expectantly. so he's a cat that has pronouns

another heavy handed symbolism moment: my mom has a potted sunflower in the kitchen. because it is a sunflower, it keeps turning towards the light from the window. my mother keeps rotating it so it faces inward because she wants "to see its beautiful petals and have it really brighten up the space!" . the sunflower is visibly wilting .

people talk about found family but then they see these characters and they’re obsessed with fitting them into nuclear family roles??? there doesn’t HAVE to be a “mother” and a “father” and they don’t all have to be “siblings” IT’S A FOUND FAMILY IT’S A MULTIFACETED RELATIONSHIP

this actually really annoys me, it’s wild how people are incapable of thinking about how people who stitch together their own family supposedly would never stitch it together in a pattern that doesn’t fit society’s exactly

This trend frustrates me to no end! Like, I have found family in real life, and we don’t fit into nuclear family roles at all. We call each other family, but that doesn’t mean there are parents, or brothers or sisters. Families, especially found families, do not have to fit the nuclear family roles of society.
