Ok, I wrote a super long vent post but it felt Unprofessional so the TL;DR is just 1) writing hard 2) the next chapter is turning out pretty OOO and poorly paced which has been making me struggle to work on it for weeks 3) my solution to this is just going to be to say "hey, sorry, i know it's not good, im writing bad on purpose from here on out actually" and maybe to wait until im done with the next-next chapter to look at comments 4) there was a mariachi band on my train this morning, which is unrelated but fun

so I am for sure nowhere near done with the chapter im working on, so 2 week update schedule continues to writhe and die (badly) against the linoleum of my bathroom tiles - but the good news is this chapter sucks bigly but in a way I'm, like, finally having so much fun with. Imagining modern magic as having rigorous syntax and logic akin to programming languages is so funny. Imagine going to wizard school and staying up all night trying to find a bug somewhere in your magic circle. Spellbooks are just documentation for that programming language with syntax reference. Theres textbooks explaining how to implement 「Fire Ball」 with O(log n) mana complexity. I know demonic asisstance is used by a lot of companies these days, but please do not use it on the final assesment as that will be considered plagiarism.

Summary:
On the start of another journey up the Spire, the Slayers arrive at a peaceful rest spot in the Underdocks with a perfect pool for the team to wash up at. While the Silent and Necrobinder go and wash up and the Defect goes off to hunt, the Ironclad and Regent are left alone to their devices. The Regent, curious as to the split, asks the Ironclad a few questions.
