20 Questions: Writing Edition
Tagged by @mortallyperfecttimemachine. (You like my writing T^T <3) Damn. Imma do it now or it'll rot between other drafts.
btw I found my ring! Leave comments folks, It's good karma
How many works do you have on ao3?
23.
But some works are basically just 'chapters' for my series so I'd rather say 12.
What is your total ao3 word count?
54,029.
And my current work will double that. It's crazy.
What are your top five fics by kudos?
your tight embrace, dear (Good Omens) 148
Theeth of a snake (Good Omens) 74
ever shaved a snake? (Good Omens) 46
Sex's own life (Good Omens) 35
Madmen (Wiedźmin) 24
If I were to sort them ow much kudos I'd give my own works, then Library would be first place I think. (and soon would sink in rank when my current work gets to that one chapter I'm dying to share)
What fandoms do you write for?
The Witcher and Good Omens. It started all with GO during covid. My hyperfixation was so strong, I learned english by reading fics ngl. The fandom was so sweet I gained enough courage to try write my own. Then Neil Gaiman was charged and it let my happy GO bubble burst. Witcher welcomend me back, tho I could never leave that fandom ever. It's part of my dna.
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Absolutely. As prev said, we are sitting around a campfire and share stories. Every suggestion, every thought, every giggle and smile and bitten fingernail is welcome <3 I'm here to engage.
And I do not just respond. Comments and replies which are dear to me, I keep in my inbox to read on bad days like a pile of letters.
What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Breakup. Tho that's not truly angst... That one chapter of my current work I have yet to share is the angstiest. Soon...
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Madmen I'd say. Because Roche and Iorveth completly drain eachother. I'd say that's a happy ending idk.
But truth be told, I rather like to write in greyscales. I don't think there'll ever be anything just happy.
Do you get hate on fics?
No. <3
Do you write smut?
It's the very reason I started writing. I wish everyone to get just as nicly aroused when reading as I do when witing <3
Do you write crossovers?
no... My hyperfixations are limited to one media at a time.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Ai scraping, yes.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope. Should there be anyone needing my fics in german or norwegian, I'd do it myself. Others; feel free.
Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
nope
What's your all time favorite ship?
Right now Roche and Iorveth of course. Let these madmen be kind to eachother while tangled in their morals and politics *sigh* Let them share a little love in that cruel world.
As I said my hyperfixation is a mean gatekeeper... Once I felt something very strongly for Crowley and Aziraphale. I remember Deidara x Itachi very fondly from my teenage years as well (such fucked up fics damn).
What's the wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Not doubting. Manifesting. I believe I can manage to turn my 80k notes into a fic. Roche and Iorveth enemies to friends to lovers slow burn politics, greyscale, comfronting the past, building a future, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
What are your writing strengths?
I'd rather think myself a better reader than I am a writer. I LOVE to find empty spaces I can fill with my theories and to read between the lines, to interpret and analyze. I am the conspiracy meme.
I aim to write like that, to lay tracks I can later tie together to better hit the feels.
What are your writing weaknesses?
The english words. I never understood it in school. And since I stick to one dictionary only, I have the feeling I repeat the same three words while I'd have so wonderful words in my native language at the ready. I'd love to use more phrases but it's difficult to use them correctly or to even know them. Prepositions are my personal nemesis in every language. Is it 'on', is it 'at', is it 'of', is it 'from', is it 'by'??!??!?!
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
I love that.
My Hirn is running on drei Sprachen at the same time. NÃ¥r jeg mangler et ord i einer Sprache, switched my brain into ne andere.
Besides there are so wonderful sayings and concepts in other langugaes which one can't just translate.
Like the norwegian 'Takk for i dag'/'Takk for sist' I talked about here
I also think Roche, as a character, would work best in german for me idk. Iorveth is doing fine in english.
First fandom you wrote for?
Difficult to pin down... A fic as such for Naruto I think. But when I was like 10 I wrote a dragon story heavily inspired by Dragon Heart, if that counts.
Favorite fic you've ever written?
The 80k notes....
And my current work :D
