A great money find today! At work someone paid items with these old $20 bills! And then I found two new Mayflower quarters in the till too. I bought a candy to swap them out with new bills on my break. This find is going to hurt my funds too. It's a bit painful to squirrel away twenty dollar bills. Especially how everything is pricy lately. But these are in fair enough conditions. Especially being from 1985. I didn't even take them all, as I left two or three behind. I hope they find a good home. I'm also excited for the new quarters too. I finally got some after just seeing them in pictures. I'm broke yet happy.

I just got a damn nice bonus! I just got these games a few days ago from gamestop on their b2g1 free sale. And as I'm installing them, on a whim I'm uploading their codes. And guess what? They worked! I just got free DLC from two 'used' games! I know this was pretty common back in the ps3/360 days, having unused codes in used games. I've had lots of luck there. Sometimes it could happen that gamestop made a new game used too. But now that systems are more connected than ever, likely a code has already been redeemed. But never give up and try a code anyways. You might get a freebie!

05/29/26: I've gone f*cking mad! It's been a while since I've spent so much at gamestop! The other day, I got just a taste of their b2g1 free sale. I had to go back today cause there was a few more games I wanted. But as I pulled and grabbed games, their price-points were different and I wanted to maximize value. So I ended up with three different sets of games in a similar price range. If I were anymore impulsive or greedy, I probably would've done two more sets. I balked at the total that I created. But this sale would still save me money. I'm buying all at once what would've taken me months to do anyways. But I'll have to settle for these bangers! I curated a good selection, though. I think I'll stay away now for a while. Or at least until the sale is over.

Went to browse gamestop before work. Saw the sign of b2g1 free and Temptation struck. Spent $80 bucks here, but I got some titles I've been keeping my eyes on for a while. I may go back for more.

05/27/26: Its a Mega Manga Haul today at the Wednesday fleamarket! It was a bit windy and the sellers that I usually buy from didn't show up. But one sellers boxes caught my eye in the distance. It was books! A ton of them. Almost all manga. At first I saw one box, and then another. I grabbed them both and took them to the guy to hold on to. I told him I was interested. He said that if I take them all, they're a dollar each. Cool. But he still had plenty of stuff strewn about. So I looked around and I found a few anime and regular dvds. I did spot some video games too, but only Facebreaker ps3 was in decent condition. Others were scratched, had center ring cracks and crappy cases. Grand total for everything was $90 bucks. Its mostly shojo manga now that I sorted it. Plus some yaoi titles. I'll keep a few. But I'll likely sell most of them in the future. I did ask the guy before I left if he had more. But he told me that his son sold lots more up in LA after buying a storage unit. And these were just the leftovers. Yikes! I would've liked to have seen that. He did say he was going to check and maybe come back with more next week. But they just say that to everyone. Storage auctions are random like that.

05/27/26: Wednesday doesn't stop! After the fleamarket run, I made it back to town and I got a chance to visit that one thrift store with weird hours. Somebody donated a bunch of books there. Lots of them were female protagonist Suspense novels. But I looked through most them and read the synopsis on the flap or did a basic google search. These books here are a hodgepodge mix of Suspense, action, horror, drama, murder and satire. And at a dollar each, a good price too. Hopefully one day I'll read them. But for now I'll store them away like the nice media chipmunk that I am. Hooray for cheap things!

05/26/26: Tuesday Sobre-ruedas gets! Its a Mexican fleamarket trip. Spent the day in Mexicali and I took my mom out for some tacos. But walking along, I found some vendors with some things. I found a batman comic picture frame from the 70s for $100 pesos (around $5.75 US). I also found next, three unopened games also for $100 pesos each. Two xbone and a ps4 game. These and others look to be old retail overstock, or stuff that went to zero that made its way to pallets. But either way, they seemed cheap. At another spot, I found more games. They were mostly sports titles, but a few decent ones were in there. And at $50 pesos each ($2.80), its fair enough. I left quite a bit of sports games behind, as I'm sure I already have them. I wanted to get a few more sega games too. But my phones signal wasn't working and I couldn't check my online docs for my lists. One game there that caught my eye was that PC copy of Owlboy. I've never seen a presentation like that. So I got it. So this last purchase was $700 pesos or around $40 bucks. I'm happy. I got a full belly of tacos and a neat little Haul of games.

05/21/26: There's a new switch game in my collection! Yasha Legends of the Demon Blade. I ordered it from Amazon. It seemed alright for twenty bucks. I actually received it a few days ago. But I'm showing it now cause I got a second copy for a birthday present and I didnt want to spoil the surprise for my friend. I like the cover art of it. But it didn't get a good critic reception. And the publisher name is one I've never heard of. But like many things, it will look nice in my shelf.

Here's the second part of my Wednesday fleamarket trip. Its not as eye catching as videogames, but being a collector, I think it deserves its own post. I got a collectors lot of foreign coins! These seem to be from the 80s, and Google AI confirmed it. They were sets from a company called The Franklin Mint. And I've seen plenty of social media feeds telling me that this company now makes collectibles of dubious values. But the 80s looks of these and the classic coins encased in these cardboard was just too tempting. Thankfully all of these are second-hand. So the only one who's now making money, is the Fleamarket seller I got them from. At first the guy wanted $5.00 each per piece. But we ended up counting them. And he's said that if I took them all, I could get them at $3.00 each. It ended up being 28 of them. So for $84 dollars. I got vintage coin sets from lots of countries around the world. I think three dollars each is fair. I don't know if there's demand for these after 40 years on the market(there isn't). But ebay has these around $10-20 each, not to mention shipping. So I think I did fine. I like coins as well as other geeky things. I got a wide variety of countries. But for some reason it had three sets from the Country of Oman. Maybe the former owner of these was from there? So what do you think? Did I find something neat or did I just buy someone's old fleamarket junk? Oh and since this was a fleamarket buy, in my previous post I said I found a pokemon manga and some ps1 stuff. The seller was kind and generous, and while I was ready to pay for them, it seems like he gave me those things for free since I already gave him $84 bucks. Gotta love a freebie.

05/20/26: Here's a part of my Wednesday fleamarket trip. The other half is going to be another post. I found random yet interesting things. Here's the first breakdown. I found Fight Night PSP for $5.00. The guy also had a Japanese street racing psp game too, but I felt like the $20 he wanted was too much. The next lot of things was a trip into the past. He had lots of weird knick-knacks from the 90s like old cassettes and magazines. But in a little glass case I found some old foreign coins and an aluminum slammer POG from McDonalds promoting the Back to the Future ride. And nearby I found two empty ancient pokemon boxes from the 90s and a flyer from Funcoland from 1999. So I asked the guy how much for the coins and he said $5.00. Fair enough. And how much for the paper stuffs? He said 'free, just take it.' Even better. The next place, I found an empty DS case and a 16gb usb memory for $3.00. And at another seller I got a comic for $2.00. Technically, I got that loose ps1 game and gta manual and pokemon manga for free. But not free. As that is a part of a bigger lot of things I bought. That's getting a separate story. I found on a table full of cables and cords a psp charger for $5.00. And lastly I found some early 2000s happy meal toys; both for a dollar. Went to the Fleamarket this morning and I saw a tub of nostalgia. A whole bunch of Choose Your Adventure books. There was a revival some years back. But these here are all OG copies from decades ago. Some of these covers looked familiar as I read them back in the early 90s when I was a kid. Sadly, I wish they were in better condition. I would've grabbed some. But I fear these are dumpster bound when the days over. We're these books a part of your childhood? Let's reminisce.

05/14/26: Thursday mail call, and the hunt doesn't stop! After receiving my Woot order of ps5 game Ender Magnolia from the mail. I took off to my local thrift stores. At goodwill, I saw two wii games at $4.00 each. I'm sure if have Enless Ocean already. But Rockstar Table Tennis is new to me. I always wanted to have it. But I kept putting it off, until now. And in the next thrift store, I had to buy a movie. It just feels weird if I dont at least buy movies once a week. So I found a boutique labeled dvd of a classic movie called The Buccaneer; Two bucks for it. I wish your search for stuff goes great!

05/13/26: Its a Wednesday Yuma AZ trip, and I'm on the hunt! Just made it back home from being out all day. And I have all of this to show off! I made it to a Ross first to look for anime figures. And I got zapped with a classic waifu figure. A Lum for $24.99?! Yes please. Then I went looking for videogames and movies at the Goodwills, but the bookworm in me won out. The movies weren't that great and the games even worse and expensive. Not that these books were any cheaper. But at $2,$3 and $4 each. It could've been worse. As I started eyeballing and pulling out books with interesting plot and premise, Googling the names were telling me they were decent reads. So I got plenty. So many books from two different locations. Not to mention some graphic novels and a videogame strategy guide. And one of the stores got me some 99 cents one piece figures and some DBZ shirts. I was so enamored in my book discoveries that I totally missed out on visiting one of the gamestops in Yuma. I just made it to one. And I instantly wandered to their retro area. They had a 4 for $20 sale. So I got some older games that I dont have in my collection. And the 3ds game, I got $5 off. Even though Goodwill has been a bust for games. Walmart still surprises me. I hit up three stores. And I got sone cheap $10 games. And at one walmart I got that Sonic Crossworlds on Xbox for $20. And an Astrobot figure for $8.00. So no fleamarket today. But this haul was just as good.
