–"I’m very very aware that… time flies by and I’m already halfway through my career. If not more, in my Formula 1 career and… It feels like it was only yesterday that I started in Melbourne so I really want to… I don’t want it to go… I– I’m not looking forward to the day I hang my helmet up, but…" –"You’ve got room for a few more championships before then?" –"I hope so, I hope so."

endless series of women in motorsports:
Maria Teresa de Filippis (November 11, 1926 – January 8, 2016) was an Italian racing driver, and the first woman to race in Formula One. Despite reservations from her family and friends (with two of her brothers making bets that she'd be slow) she won her very first race, driving a Fiat 500 on a 10 km drive between Salerno and Cava de Tirreni. This result gave her the confidence to compete in the Italian sports car championship, where she finished second in the 1954 season. She made three Grand Prix starts for the Maserati team, being a works driver since 1954, in 1958, with a best result of 10th at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Following Jean Behra's death in a racing accident (August 1st, 1959), Maria Teresa was left devastated and retired from professional racing. She married and started a family in the early 1960s, staying away from racing until 1979, when she joined the International Club of Former F1 Grand Prix Drivers, club that she was named vice-president of in 1997. Maria Teresa de Filippis died in January 8th 2016, in Scanzorosciate, Italy, at the age of 89. Even if her F1 career was short, she successfully competed in other racing series and is widely recognized as one of the pioneers of the sport.

...but few were those who could tame the Prancing Horse
Michael: "Hero status makes me uncomfortable. I don't want it, I have a problem with it, just as I do with the hysteria surrounding my person. Obviously I appreciate what people think of my achievements and how it lifts them but I don't see myself as a hero. I am just like everyone else, I just happen to be able to drive fast."
But Seb and Nico:

the team celebrating the win with lewis!
I actually did an interview with Schumacher one-on-one in the back of a limo as he was being driven somewhere in Abu Dhabi, on the weekend of his final Grand Prix. Instead of coming up with a list of questions to ask him, I got hold of lots of people who were significant to his career, either people he'd worked with or people he'd competed against, to say, 'What would you like me to ask Michael?'. [...] DC's question was about that incident [at Spa 1998]: when he'd originally talked to Michael, he'd asked, "Michael, have you never ever been wrong in your life about something?". Michael had appeared to think about it and then had said, "No, I don't think so". So DC's question was: "What I want to know from him is, was he just winding me up when he said that or does he genuinely believe he's never been wrong?". And so I put that question to Michael and he had a little think about it, then he smirked and he said, "If I said 'No, I've never been wrong', that would wind him up even more, wouldn't it?'. I said it would, and he said, 'Ok, so that's what I'm saying: No, I've never been wrong'.
