feels like this should've been in the f1 questionnaire since i find lewis to be the center of everything but what's your fav lh lore? or top 5 lore?
ahhh this is hard. which is why it has taken me so long to answer.
i'm going to pick stuff that isn't really widely discussed, and going to leave out some stuff I do think it's interesting but common knowledge. i'd say in no particular order:
he liked bikes better than karts, especially motocross bikes, but his dad made him stick with karts. he obviously loves formula one, and he describes his years karting in italy as the best times of his life, but i often wonder how much of those idyllic italian memories weren't just having a friend for probably the first time in his life in nico, and traveling with him instead of his father. obviously i'm glad lewis is an f1 driver and not a motocross rider because i don't give a fuck about that in fact i think it's kind of boring. but i don't like to hand it to anyone's father, especially not his, who i don't trust.
he likes to read. he's mentioned it a few times, in the past. and I don't think he talked much about the kind of books he reads, but he said he liked to read before bed. people rarely talk about it but i think it's a fun detail.
at some point in either 2008 or 2009 (like that season wasn't bad enough) he got braces and they completely closed his tooth gap, thankfully braces are mostly a scam so it was back the next year.
he was mad about spa 2008 even years later, and with good reason. that was such huge fucking bullshit. i hate how harshly penalized he is, unlike everyone else. like for instance today, max called for a penalty, and lewis was investigated when actually max was the one who should be investigated for trying to push him off the track on purpose. another great injustice would happen to him at spa in 2014, this time nico's fault.
you can't trust him when he says "i love x country", because he says that about every country 🫶 i wish he only meant it for brazil and china but alas 🥀 I do think it's cute how he tries to speak a little of the local language whenever he's on the podium.
