sometimes you need dialogue tags and don't want to use the same four
THANK YOUUU
this will never find me when i need it but thank you .
Dragons that don't hoard gold are always top tier.
A really young dragon that hoards toys and games (he's happy to play with whoever visits).
A dragon chef that hoards ingredients (I hope you like spicy food).
A dragon smithy that hoards ingots and other metals (dragonscale armor is made from scales that they've shed).
A dragon that kept losing her clutches of eggs and started hoarding orphans (the ones that moved out when they got older all visit for the holidays, its a big event)
Do you ever just want to be in a reality where helping spirits and or confused cryptids is like a normal job
Like I just wanna be in a badly maintained work van after trying to calm down a very anxious werewolf or some shit. While we laugh and enjoy some Mr noodles with work friends talking about past jobs or embarrassing moments.
Anyone else or have I lost my sanity
Costs For Magic Ideas
Following spells are weaker
Creates physical wounds
Physically drains (ie; exhaustion, sore, inability to cast more spells) basically stamina
Mentally drains (ie; slower magic, spells may come out wrong)
Following spells could take longer to cast
Following spells could also have a limit; after casting a bigger spell the user could only cast smaller spells (basically mana)

Kobolds as the juvenile form of dragonborn. When a kobold is old enough, it forms a cocoon around itself within a dragon's nest, where it metamorphozes into a full dragonborn, with the color determined by the dragon. The cocoon resembles dragon eggs, making them literally dragon-born.
You know how societies tend to generally bury their dead in the ground and live atop said ground? What if that was reversed.
What if in dwarvish cultures instead of keeping the dead under the earth which'd be taking up valuable living space, they just had spots above ground with stone "burial" shacks where bodies in tightly sealed up coffins are left.
And to deter grave robbing they're typically without any adornment or memorabilia of what they had in life. These are instead left in shrines that exist underground that can be prayed to.
Don’t get me wrong, werewolves are freakin awesome, but I think what a lot of people don’t realize is that wolves aren’t hostile to their own pack as media makes it seem. There’s no “alpha wolf” ; if there are wolves in charge, they’re usually the parents of the other wolves. In other words, wolf packs are one big happy family.
But HYENAS on the other hand?? Testosterone-fueled female domination. The smaller males are the lowest ranking in the hierarchy and they are stuck like this. They get food that females don’t want. Hyenas eat their prey alive and crunch bones. Cubs often suffocate before they can even be born because they are birthed through the female hyena’s unique clitoris, otherwise known as a pseudo-penis — and yes, giving birth through this is incredibly painful.
Even though spotted hyenas are technically not related to canidae, I still think they should be considered as werecreatures in fiction. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
Do you remember that post where some estimated that Smaug’ stolen fortune is worth something like 50 billion dollars which would rank him as the second wealthiest fictional character but only as the fifteenth wealthiest american, meaning that there are fourteen human beings richer than a gold-hoarding dragon?
Ok so hear me out: what if dragons existed in our reality, but at a certain point in history they decided that the best course of action was to shapeshift into humans? The reason behind this is that our weapons were becoming too sophisticated and able to kill the dragons so best to hide and blend and try to gain gold and fortunes in more sly and cunning ways. So yeah, my idea is that all billionaires are actually dragons in human form, cause it’s the only explanation as to why a person wants to keep all that money for themselves even though they will never be able to fully spend it.
There’s a cool concept somewhere in comparing the fae stealing your name with hackers stealing your personal info, but I’m not creative enough to find it.

please hear me out: multiple kinds of vampires like there's multiple bat diets yes, include the blood-sucking vampires, but also take other vampires into consideration. fruit vampires, who sucked the life out of fields due to their hunger. grub vampires, who... honestly aren't that bad for their environment, they're just gross little guys
A vampire alchemist who has created a synthetic human blood serum, not only to satisfy his hunger without hurting anyone, but to be able to donate blood.
A fae who only takes people’s names if they no longer want it and even helps them find a new one. She also guards nice humans from scams and takes people with nowhere else to go into the fae realm.
An elf so germaphobic he isolated himself in a castle that is magically kept pristine, with enchanted crystals creating purified air and visitors having to go through an intense regime of disinfectation before being able to enter.
A siren whose voice is so hurtful to the human ear that sailors will go out of their way to avoid getting anywhere close to her home.
A ghost that’s basically a disembodied soul attached to a sheet of cloth. It takes care of the old mansion it lives in and constantly forgets that it cannot go through solid objects.
A dragon that inhales fire and actively seeks to keep things from burning down. They also seek out hidden treasure to give to those in need and have scales that are really squishy.
A person who turns into a werewolf every night except during a full moon and is barely a functional human being throughout the day, only managing somewhat by drinking an excessive amount of coffee.
A succubus who is absolutely revolted by anything remotely sexual and feeds off of hugs, pats, cheek/forehead kisses, hand holding and cuddles instead.
A necromancer who’s going out of their way to seek out any dead souls rummaging on the Earth and talk them into going to the afterlife.
The princess uses her political power to protect her kingdoms dragon population from knights who are driving dragons closer and closer to extinction by poaching them for their teeth, claws, scales, and the title of dragon slayer.
Hi I would really like to see a mermaid society modeled after orcas, please. 👉🏼👈🏼
• Matriarchal, led by oldest wisest female who raised other children in the pod
• Knowledge of their exclusive hunting techniques and hunting territories passed onto each generation
• Nomadic
• Often kills other sea creatures just for the thrill of it
• Strong emotional bonds
Thank you. You’re welcome.
Ive seen people be like in modern fantasy like "oh the pritagonists can just look up spells on their phone how do you solve that"
Imma be honest most people who go on recipe websites and book every recipe they see don't even use them lmao why would with be different
Given how terrible most recipe websites are i can only imagine how bad spell websites would be
Having to navigate someone's entire life story of how they became a witch in order to get to the part where they actually talk about the gods-damned banishing ritual
the number of 'easy 3 step spell to fly' that at best do nothing, and have a good chance of doing something very bad to you is non zero
Three words "BuzzFeed Spell Hacks"
five minute witchcrafts
Can not emphasize enough that there are IRL articles about spells and witchcraft that read like that. It would not be that much of a stretch to go full recipe blogger.
Me in the dungeon, typing into Google: "How to cast a light spell"
Remembering that time I waded through "This is my family's super-secret can't-miss light spell! When my grandmother was a child in Lithuania, she had a pet pony named Brambles" only for the spell to call for six candles and a bottle of holy lighter fluid

Trying to figure out if the "moon fed rosemary" is really an important part of the spell or if regular rosemary will work and the author is just trying to get me to spend $19.99 plus shipping

I have never wanted an imaginary thing more than this.
That is the most urban fantasy thing I have ever read.
There is a factory out there thats powered by dragons. There are a lot actually, dozens across America, and even more in Germany and France and Poland. For hours on end they'll have dragons, big ones, small ones, breathing fire to generate heat and power. It's an old method but it's efficient.
Back in the old days they uses to capture dragons from their lairs to generate power. But in the modern era they pay them wages. Most dragons need money to live too, now that the cattle are all well guarded in factory farms. So the poorest of them need to do things like power factories to make money to eat.
Of course, even in this economy a dragon is hard to control. Especially when you have many in one place. Even with our best sorcerers, and our best guns, few things can stop them, they can heal from any wound, and their fire can melt even steel. They'll ally with the goblins and orcs and humans that mine the raw materials, and the elves and dwarves and humans who work the assembly lines. They can burn down the entire factory, find whatever little human who runs it and threaten to kill him if he doesn't meet their demands, to pay them more, or to make it so they work fewer hours. And if worse comes to worse they can retreat into the forest with the cryptids and the fae.
So they controlled them in another way. The richest creatures in the world, the landlords, and the demon princes, and the old executives, and the vampire kings, started to make the world fear dragons. They made their propaganda, though they called it news and social science, about the dangers of dragons, about how the dragons would burn down the nearby villages if they revolted, how they wanted to take control for themselves and how they'd reign and tyrants. And the people agreed, and soon if the dragons tried to revolt, the army would surround them. And there would be no alliance with the other workers. And new laws were made to protect people the dragons never wanted to hurt from the dragons.
And soon as time went on people wrote books and stories and plays where the dragons were villains. And when that was less socially acceptable, it became commplace that kajiu or aliens who were villains would look like dragons, and conform to all their stereotypes. And the people felt more and more in danger as more and more protocols were made to assure their safety.
And now years later, now that dragons are rare, now that so many are in the factories, it's become fun. Now the towns near the factories will have dragon tours for tourists, and little dragon dolls to sell. Now it is so cute, and so marketable, and so very far away where they're closest.
But the factories still burn sometimes. It always happens sometimes. Even when nobody will ever give into their demands. There are still dragons who fly away into the night. There is still nothing that can contain a dragon, not if it truly wishes to be free.
