paramisia is how people keep assuming the MAP acronym and flag is pedos trying to insert themselves into the lgbtq community, using "pedo" the same way they would say "predator"/"groomer"/etc., and calling all pedos (explicitly including anti-contact ones) "future molesters"
and when someone tries to correct and explain why this is all wrong, they are told by multiple people to kill themselves and are called a "pedo defender" without anyone actually trying to make a logical argument against their corrections

This is paramisia. I'm tired of this. So tired.
Minor attraction =/= child predation. Being attracted to someone isn't enough to make rape happen. People into brunettes do not automatically rape brunettes. This rhetoric is so broken.
If a MAP rapes someone, it isn't being a MAP that made them do so, but rather being a selfish person. This is like saying "boys will be boys" when a man rapes someone, it's ridiculous, as it treats manhood as the cause of rape.
Not to mention, most child rapists are not pedophiles, just as most men who rape men are not queer [link].
People usually see no issue with other neurodivergencies having flags (autism flag, PTSD flag, schizospec flag, etc) or "more tolerable" paraphiles having flags (BDSM flag, leather flag, etc), but throw an absolute fit when MAPs, zoophiles, necrophiles, and other demonized paraphiles try to make flags for themselves.
It's ridiculous, it's ableist, and it's nonsensical. Having a flag is a statement against the medical abuse, conversion therapy, wrongful imprisonment, ostracization, and other discriminatory experiences MAPs face.
Extra: Telling minors to stay away from those who use that flag is also dumb, because MAPs can be minors, and may be using those flags as well. For example, a 14 year old attracted to a 5 year old is a pedophile.
