Trailblazer
Ian Gallagher is an android technician with a burning love for all things synthetic. That includes one of his long-term patients, Mickey Milkovich.
When Mickey comes to him in the dead of night with devastating injuries and groundbreaking news, both of their worlds turn upside down.
Short Extract:
It’s obvious now, his honesty parameters have taken a beating along with his face; his mouth will say anything he’s thinking, even if his personality chip doesn’t want him to. If it wasn’t obvious from his huffing and puffing, the fact that his cooling fans are whizzing away like an overloaded PC give away the game instantly. “Who’s your favorite sibling?” “Mandy.” “Am I a good doctor?” Mickey narrows his eyes. “I don’t believe you are one.” “Okay, that’s fair. But do you like me?” “I do,” he says slowly, carefully picking the words that are allowed out of his overly honest mouth, “but I find your interrogation irritating. At best.” Ian laughs again, enamoured with Mickey’s temperament. “Okay, HAL,” Ian concedes, “I like the scars, they make you look rugged.”
I've had this in the drafts for a very long time now, but I think it's finally time to share my Android Mickey with the world. Plus absolutely besotted Ian Gallagher, my beloved.
There will be a part two, I promise! Already 2k words written and I'm planning on chugging through it while I have inspiration.
