“I need you to hear it,” Ian implored gently.  And maybe it was a low blow, and maybe it was cruel. But Mickey had loved Ian with a love that was devastating, with a love that made Ian untouchable. And when it came down to it, Mickey had never been able to say no to him. From the very second Mickey let himself see a future for them, let himself want things for himself and believe they were tangible, he had been all in. They stared at each other again for another prolonged moment. Ian’s eyes were puppy-dog pleading and his large frame was hunched and pathetic. Mickey could never bear to see Ian hurting. There was nothing Mickey wouldn’t do for him. Even now. “Fine. Fuck.” Mickey relented. Like Ian knew he would. It didn’t make him feel any better. “Out with it.”
