my reply i commented on the above post: I am glad to hear about the strict no-AI policy found within the guidelines, although I wish this was communicated in a clearer manner for those that aren't participating, or are introduced to this event from the "Sign-Ups Open" posts, as there are no explicit statements on the topic made there. I noticed other events, such as the Shameless Big Bang’s announcement post preceding the event, clearly stated in their policy that no usage of ai is permitted, which I appreciated. As for the response on reblogging of AI being accidental, I think we owe it not only to the hardworking, creative writers and artists participating but to all original creatives to employ a more critical approach to the work we interact with. Personally, I don’t find my original message to be disingenuous and I’m not interested in approaching AI content in a more ‘curious’ manner, and as both a writer and artist myself both for informal work and by trade, the proliferation of this content makes me discouraged to join spaces that take this approach, instead. Regardless of my participation, I recognize and admire that these events are so critical to maintaining a community within a fandom, and I’m really glad they’re still so active for a show that ended five years ago! It’s truly a feat to maintain momentum and connection while fostering creatives and readers alike, and my concerns come from a place of hoping to continue supporting these artists.   Thanks for your response to my concerns, and I wish all participants a great event this year!

again, they felt the need to block me so i'm not invoking any further discussion between the two of us, but as they've deleted this post and i still stand by my opinions and response, i've decided to reiterate them on my own blog. personally i had a legitimate concern and was glad i got some clarification on it, and i still don't feel like my discussion here was disrespectful. im curious why they deleted my ask because it did clarify that they are anti-ai, which (as of me sending the ask, im not sure if it has been added now) was not clearly stated on any of their sign-up announcement posts.

as someone who actually went to a poor ass public school that was also shady as fuck during no child left behind they were passing ANYONE AND EVERYONE despite if they even showed up or not because the more students they could show advanced to the next grade / graduate the more money the government would allow them, and even then we'd still be underfunded. we used to have days where we'd have to all keep our winter coats on because we couldn't run the heat early in the season to try and save money. we would have a day off or a half-day every month to try and save money. we used to have something called a 'split class' prior to high school where it would be one class mixed between 2 grades because we didn't have enough teachers for the amount of students we had. for someone like mickey who says in 302 he's not going back to school because he'd still be a freshman because he hadn't passed a single class, they would just advance him to the next grade and have him make up his failed courses either the next summer or before he graduated. they'd have seniors retaking 9th grade science while simultaneously taking 12th grade science at my school so they'd graduate. it was practically impossible for anyone to be 'held back' a grade.
