I never intended to publicly post this before picture - I took it mainly so I could have some documentation of what my body used to look like. I’m very proud of the progress I’ve made - not just physically, but in learning to love my body in all of its uniqueness. There is only one of me, and I feel very grateful that I am living the life I was always meant to live.

Most black girls experience this hatred at schools. And classmates are not the only problem, there is no support from teachers, too. That’s why they get so affected by their school experiences. Black kids deserve to be treated just like everybody else, they want to study, they want to learn something ,too. However due to prejudice they are 5 times more likely to be suspended than their white peers and it can ruin their lives forever. National Women’s Law Center created this video to change the situation. Join the movement to help black girls feel normal and get the same opportunities everybody else has.

It's a little over 28 months since I started T. I remember at first, it seemed like an eternity waiting the two weeks between injections, eager for my next dose of the hormone that was going to fix all my problems. And being on T has done a great deal for me. I've grown into a more confident and happy person, more comfortable in my skin with each passing day. What it has not done is fixed all my problems. That is something I am learning to do each day, with a voice that delivers my thoughts in a pleasing timbre; with legs that are strong and muscular; with a body that is no longer bound up. Sometimes I forget. I forget that it's been two weeks and that it's time for another shot. I forget which leg I'm supposed to stick this time. I forget the journey that has taken me to where I am. So today, I remind myself to be grateful for the journey. Be grateful that I am able to forget.
