i really like the term "gender variant" and i will always advocate for using it. i like that it groups me, an intersex person who is partly cisgender, with trans people without saying i'm inherently transgender myself. i like that there's a way to communicate things that trans people have in common with GNC or intersex cis people. i like that you can be more than one type of gender variant at once and you don't necessarily have to specify what kind you are. i like that, if you started out as a GNC cis person and used that term for yourself, then found out you were a gender-conforming trans person, you wouldn't have to stop using it. i like that it gives a shared community to people who may not necessarily all have the same identity but have aspects of their identities in common. i like the term "gender variant".
