It’s hotly debated whether this is an example of Greco-Roman realist style imposed on their subjects, or a home grown Egyptian development of their own ancient tradition. Those who say it’s more Egyptian than Roman point out that there’s no surviving paintings in the rest of the Roman Empire that were this realistic. Those who say it’s more Roman than Egyptian point out the arid climate left these portraits intact, and beleive the others in the rest of the empire were lost.

Personally I think you can call them Egyptian because these people, whether of Roman or ancient Egyptian descent, are still the ancestors of the modern Egyptians today.

If the first images flow by as anonymized destruction, but the last two hit you more directly, ask yourself why that is? Why do you view these differently just because of where on the globe they happened?

What difference does it make when the people killed are inside the US or outside? When the bombs are dropped domestically or elsewhere? do people not bleed to same everywhere in the world? Do their buildings not explode just the same? are the poisoned children not important to you?

A lesbian woman can be unhappily in a forced or socially coerced relationship with a cis man (as many of us are or have been, myself included), think of ourselves so far as Totally Not A Lesbian, comply sexually with said man we're with... And still have that man abuse us, correctively rape us and possibly even kill us, because our latent lesbianism is that much of a threat to his masculinity.

The reason lesbians report having experienced excessive rates of domestic violence (which then was turned around by lesbophobes to make it seem like WE are the most violent group to our partners) is because those statistics include violence we faced from a partner while still romantically or sexually involved with men.
