i've been reading the dark forest by cixin liu and i'm so close to dropping it despite how much of it i've read (almost 70%) but i am so tired of this author and his sexism and the pessimism that permeates his writing. his plot is so formulaic too, like, it is such a slog to read pages after pages of gratuitous scifi wank to only have the same shit repeat over and over again
