Y'all are forgetting there used to be some big ass predators not that long ago in Earth’s history (in the grand scheme of things anyways). Giant cave bears, cave lions, cave hyenas, dire wolves, smilodons, and terror birds, just to name a few. And our ancestors lived with a lot of them around, as did the ancestors of horses and moose. The reason moose are so big is because they are some of the last of the mega fauna to exist. There used to be even bigger moose and moose-like animals, too.
