They do however have a good take down record if you contact them to let them know something of yours has been uploaded without your permission. I have a lot of friends who work in sex, and they’ve had to contact pornhub a couple of times when their exs uploaded private videos not intended for public audiences, and pornhub has always responded quickly to them and removed the content. Which is more than can currently be said for tumblr when someone steals your selfie and puts it on a porn blog.

I think they probably take too much of a cut of money for it to be a viable option for me? But for sex workers being forced off tumblr who are also being blacklisted by paypal (paypal doesn’t allow adult content creators to use their services, which means pornhub is probably using something like authorize.net) this might be a good life jacket measure in the meantime? Idk. It’s just kind of cool to know it’s there I guess?

The Vox article that I was interviewed for is up and running, and it contains some serious fuckign information about this whole fiasco.

Information that tumblr just straight up refused to provide to its userbase at all.

Unsurprisingly to those of us watching this website deteriorate over the last year, this full content purge and ban has been in progress for a solid 6 months. The date got moved up because of the child porn thing, but it was always coming for us.

Equally unsurprising: Tumblr’s management and ownership are absolutely destroying the actual staff working on it. The company has been hemoragghing senior staff without so much as a token attempt to keep them in place. So the drops in site quality are real, and wil probably only be getting worse.

if you’re using an app to subscribe to podcasts then technically you are already subscribing to rss feeds (but ones specifically for delivering audio) (most rss readers can also handle podcast feeds if you really want)

i actually use tiny tiny rss because i am the queen of all edge cases and it’s the thing that has most of the features i like BUT i DON’T recommend it really on account of the developer is a huge asshole and it’s not remotely newbie-friendly
