Handcuffing Joseph
I want to laugh about this for a second as someone who worked in a prison and had to do training on handcuffing people, and let me be real; I wasn't good at it. There are certain techniques they want you to do so it goes by smoothly (and quickly depending on how it's done). but I was always nervous about doing it and was very slow...So you know what I'd do to not be awkward (yet was still awkward?) I talked to the people I had to do it to and be like "It's my first time." "Sorry, I'm new." and these people would roast the fuck out of me. So, new headcanon that made me cackle since the Deputy is new (Whitehorse calling them Rookie/Rook and Pratt calling them Probie in the beginning). The fade to black is just them fumbling with their double lock key because of nerves (like, my brother in christ, this is a literal cult leader, why the FUCK am I, the very obviously new member of this fucking department, doing this? To GeT eXpErIeNcE, fuck off). (idk the training that goes into being a deputy or cop or anything, but ignore that for this instance if they have to perfect handcuffing, I just think it's hilarious to have the deputy that fucks up their whole cult being a fucking nervous wreck only to turn around and be the most dangerous person around)
