this part is one i’ve dubbed “ciello” or “demon ciel.” he is more cocky, unhinged, silly, and god complexly. smug little fucker. this part is DEEPLY similar to r!ciel and took after him in some way for sure. hes very prevelant during the actor au and leans into a more cockney accent. he acts more like a teen boy than an adult or child like the earl or azure parts. comes around during the school arc leaning into petty revenge in some ways in a teenage sort of way.

the next part i’ll be discussing is the “queens guard dog” or “earl” part. he’s much more heavily guarded, a DEEP trauma holder, more detached, pained, blunt, professional, distrustful and hypervigilant. he seems to prefer wearing a top hat and coat and primarily uses a cane. hes the most adult acting part of the system and is highly prominent in season one. he has some sort of mathematical ability too. hes a detective but in an adult acting sense. sherlock holmes type of thing, hes very well spoken and knowlegeable about the factories that he runs.

the next part id like to discuss is a part i call "azure" or the "sweet schoolboy" part. he seems to be the deep socialite that can keep and maintain social connections (most likely for investigation purposes, but does form attachments to people as seen in the circus arc and the public school arc.) he's very sweet, soft and leans deeply into that whole blushy "shota" thing. hes a very vulnerable part but has socially manipulative tendancies intertwined with his softness

the part below im going to mention is the cunning and intelligent HIGHLY manipulative part. the part most seen in the first season that messes with grown adults. can see through the facade of adults trying to exploit him and gain from him. he seems to be the part that enjoys playing games but in a more adult way. the part that "plays with his pawns" so to speak. unnamed part. highly inspired by r!ciel

this next part is the DEEPLY pained child traumaholder that holds onto FULL memory of ciel's cult trauma. he does not trust grown men or anyone that he deems as threatening. he seems to find comfort in more boyish acting people (as seen when he clings to finny.) EXTREMELY vulnerable and rarely comes out. that earl part was clearly trying to make people forget that this part exists when he came back out from that state. he seems to find comfort from warm drinks with lots of honey as seen in the book of atlantic and the emerald witch arc.

the part below is the sassy fashioniesta, i’ll call him Phantomhive, the "black butler aesthetic" part of him that enjoys dressing like a doll in his own right. he is very bratty and leans into being a child for performative and aesthetic purposes most likely as a means of taking back power over his autonomy in some way. the part that probably takes more control during official art and such. leans into crossdressing.

oh god, im glad you like my writing but it's by no means easy for me to write angst either.

you need to know that the first, second, and third draft are going to suck. angst is the one of the hardest genres to nail because you have to wrestle between the emotions, body language, and dialogue of your characters. plus you add ambience and heavy tension into the mix.

i start with the general idea: a fight, a confession, a scene that's going to precede a new arc. in this case, i tend to focus on the inner turmoil of just one character--the secondary one i only describe by their reactions and outsburts and how they impact my protagonist. i stick to a single pov.

second is, what's the point? the scene should end in a transformation from one emotional state to another. my character should leave the scene with another way of seeing things, either for good or bad. it needs to push the plot foward.

third: how does my mc think? do they have supressed anger? if so, they are going to snap. have they been surpressing sadness? they might break out crying in the middle of their argument or do something erratic.

Organize your draft in 4 parts:

you have your scene launch: which starts in the middle of something.

2. conflict arises: one of the characters says or does something. tension esclates.

3. climax: the fight, the confession. something is revealed here, new to either the characters or to the reader. the character can't go back to their previous state of mind after this comes to light.

4.denoument: a new question, action, or promise rises. the character know what to do (or not do) and prompts the next scene with another launch.

i advice you to focus on showing, not telling us how they feel.

do their voice cracks?

are their eyes blurry?

are they saying something mean because they are hurt?

are they thinking logically?

what do they do with their hands?

how do they react to the secondary characters emotions and behaviour? (this reveals a lot about their feelings--called in literary devices as emotion cues by secondary characters)

is the light dim or hard?

is it a closed space or public?

can you add a conflict that makes them show their true feelings?

here's a preview of one of the heaviest angst i've written for this fic. hope it can serve as reference for what i explained.

after you somehow come up with a draft similar to what you had in mind, you focus on the dialogue, body language, and inner monologue being coherent and smooth. from there, you only revise, and fix things here and there.
