i saw someone say that most people don't like alois, and it made me wonder what the general opinion looks like for other characters. to keep the poll short, i chose 25 most popular characters or those i think might be more polarizing and can be placed into 6 categories: like/dislike/top 3 favorites/top 3 most hated/don't know/neutral.

there’s no way to limit the columns so that there’s a maximum number of answers in the top 3 sections, so if more than three characters appear in "top 3," i simply won’t count the extra ones when calculating the results. also, you don’t have to force yourself to pick a top 3 from the listed characters. those columns can simply be left empty.

i'll post the results somewhere in about a week. 

When Sebastian researches each person and discovers Ciel's grandmother, he states that there appears to be no obvious factors in common between each of them.

But on a reread, this scene stuck out to me:

Clearly the "great power" in question is a demon's power.

And, still on that same topic of forgetting the weight of a soul in exchange for demonic power, he picks up the locket and says he "warned the lot of you".

This brings me to believe that all of the people in the mourning lockets sold their souls to demons - including Claudia.

That's as far as I can go based on evidence, but if Claudia made a deal with a demon... I can only begin to imagine what she wished for and the effect it unknowingly had on Vincent and the Ciels' lives.

The DNA aspect of the hair also intrigues me - Undertaker seems to have no hope for reanimating Vincent because he "burned down to the marrow of his bones," but perhaps as long as there's some remnant of viable DNA, he thinks it'll be possible with enough research. (And Vincent being absent from the lockets doesn't necessarily mean he didn't make a deal with the devil, but perhaps that there is simply no hair to bring him back with.)

You want to study abroad? Show us proof that there is a quadrillion dollars in your bank account. Oh, an average monthly salary in your country is $400 and you plan to work when you arrive? You can't do that, silly, a student visa only allows you to work 2 hours every third Wednesday, and if we find out that you're working a second more we will deport you.

You want to work abroad? Better be a programmer, then of course you are welcome. Doctor, scientist, white-collar or, god forbid, blue-collar worker? You can fuck right off, your visa application goes straght into trash.
