Spencer, Derek, and Emily (Deal With A Ghost)

Emily remembers waking up in the hospital after surgery, no one but JJ in there with her.

There were tears in JJ’s voice as she said, “It’s going to devastate them, to see you die.”

Emily knew that they all cared. That she had friends. That the team saw her as more than just a co-worker, after all these years.

But Spencer and Derek had been dating for ages before she ever got swept up between them. They’ll grieve, probably, but—

They’ll be fine. It’s not like she was their girlfriend or anything. She hasn’t been anyone’s girlfriend in a very long time and no matter how much some part of her yearned to finally anchor herself in someone.

Maybe they dated someone else. She hopes that they dated someone else. That they found happiness with someone else, if that’s what they want. 

She hopes that they move on. That would be better than the alternative, she has to think. 

They'd only just started dating—if you can even call what they were doing dating at all. She might have wanted it to be, but she knows, in practice, that it was just friends accepting her into bed because they wanted someone that they trusted to have some fun with. They should be able to move on, right?

I would also love to see him all alone, feeling abandoned, and going on something of a rampage about it. Fully leaning into the violence that he has despised in himself and I truly think he should be doing more of that

suddenly they are no longer edwin, crystal, and niko. instead they are a young boy tormented by other boys (loud, vicious, violent) to the point of his cruel death and hellish punishment, a young girl abused and stalked by someone who will wear your face in her dreams, and another young girl who likely has experienced harassment at the hands of people just. like. you. young, stupid boys lashing out out of hurt.
