I've been wrapped up in so much I haven't even taken a moment to send love to my fam. - The LGBT+ community have been fighting for equality as well, while surviving the many phobias that threaten their safety and human rights. - Please don't forget the black LGBT+ community while you're fighting for black lives. They're fighting for the same rights, plus they have to fight to be free to love who they want, or to express themselves in whatever way that feels right for them. Nah, dead that! - Mainstream culture is heavily influenced by black people and black gay culture -- "yas" "beat" "gagging" "shade" etc. Yet we're mighty silent when they need us to fight for them, or hey, to not kill them. - I love my fam! After a rocky but equally blessed December, I finally got to have a selfcare day courtesy of @molewaskincare. Molewa Skincare is an independant business created by the amazing Sola. Sola makes all her products herself and has been creating natural skincare products for over ten years. All her products are 100% au naturel and from sustainably sourced palm kernel oil from the Motherland! I started using one of my soaps (Papaya Sweet Potato) the day I got it and it is bloody brilliant. It helped to sooth a few of my cuts and bruises and helped them heal faster, and Honeyyyyyy the smell... The smell! Lord god preserve my soul! The whole bathroom smells gorgeous all. The. Time. From just the soap alone - without using it or getting it wet. My whole body smells like a gourmet snack 😎 (yassss bish), I get whiffs of it non-stop throughout the day! As aunty Naomi taught me, you gotta have multiple sources of pleasant smells coming from your body. The discovery box consists of a weeks supply of Molewa Skincare products so you can really get a feel for all the products available, rather than piddly little samples you usually get from ... well, most products. My skin is super sensitive so when I act like I have to be extra with the products I use, I'm not being boujie, I actually have to. I suffered with severe eczema from the age of two. It's almost entirely cleared now, except for one or two problem areas that come and go as they please 😒. Once most of it cleared, I was left with immaculate skin (my karma for all my pain and suffering 😏) but very sensitive, immaculate skin. Hi guys! This is a piece I did on Ella Roberta who passed away at the age of nine due to a severe and rare case of Asthma believed to have been caused by air pollution. The piece was featured in the Oct/Nov issue of the Lewisham Ledger but still available to read online. 💚 Ella's Mother Rosamund Adoo Kissi-Debrah has been fighting tirelessly to raise awareness of the dangers of air pollution and asthma in London. She has also been fighting a legal battle for a fresh inquest into the cause of Ella's death, which is believed to have been due to unlawful levels of air pollution. 💚 The news came in at the weekend that Rosamund has won the right to seek a new inquest after the attorney general quashed the original inquest in to Ella's death following new evidence. 💚 I know so many of my friends and family have young children and their safety is paramount to them. So it is important that Ella's story gets the spotlight and the support it so desperately deserves. This time last Sunday, after recovering from exhaustion all week, I was out with this nutter @mizz2guuud my partner in crime. The weather was beatuful so the vibe was just right. We started our day in Canada water then to Greenwich for the music video shoot of a pretty shit hot rapper @thalesthegreat. New tune out soon!
