Hello there beautiful boy or girl, you are amazing, no matter what they say. This poem may not have any rhythm or rhyme, but just listen when I say, you are a treasure to have in my world, whether you like it or not. Put down that razor, set down those pills, and realize that life can and will get better. A rainbow only shines when there is rain. Your perfect in every single way, and don’t let normal people tell you any different. Just think, if you were to pick up that rope, gun, or pills and finish “the deed”, all the beautiful aspects of life you could be missing. You would be missing the way you feel when your crush brushes your shoulder, the smell of concrete after it rains, the rush of riding in a huge scary roller coaster, or the little things in life that make you smile until your face hurts. The way it feels to have front row seats at the concert of your favorite band, how you pop your foot during your first kiss. Life would be so different if you weren’t here. The moon wouldn’t shine with a yellowish glow, with clouds and stars as beautiful as it is. You say cutting and harming yourself is your way of dealing with life. Don’t you see how much it harms the people around you? How much people would hurt because you aren’t in their presence? Yes the people who you know and people you have known in the past would be greatly affected by this loss, but what about the people in your future? What about your husband or wife? What about your kids? What about your best friends? That you have yet to meet and make great memories with. Don’t you want to see what beautiful scenes you have yet to see? What amazing accomplishments you have yet to succeed? The fantastic experiences you have yet to behold? Yes, life would be so different without you. Life wouldn’t go on if you weren’t there. The moon wouldn’t shine its yellowish glow; stars wouldn’t be as bright as they were before; the sun wouldn’t shine on the land as it did before. So think again before you do anything you regret. Life gets better, trust me, a rainbow can only shine through rain; the stars and moon can only grow through darkness; life will only get better if you keep pushing. No you don’t need me telling you, you’re beautiful and amazing out of pity. What you need to be told this out of love and truth. Besides the only thing that could happen is becoming stronger to face the obstacles yet to come, love from the people who loved you when no one else wanted to, and a life you could have never accomplished if you were at your own funeral six feet under <3
