is it still possible to build a community as a musician on tumblr?
i'm so sick of posting shit on tiktok and instagram it doesnt even feel like it has any point and the algorithm on those apps do absolutely nothing for me. i don't even think the target audience that would genuienly connect w my music is there, i have garnered a total of 5-6 people who are interested in my music on those platforms
tumblr however feels like more of a fit for me, i certainly think the people here would be more interested in interacting with music as music rather than consuming it as a mere content. the thing is i never had a grasp of tumblr either, i have had been on and off on the app for a while now but never really consistently spent any time here. i'd love to learn a bit more about the platform though so i'm thinking of switching here maybe

in an August night, you stood by my side, held me tight in your arms I told you my fears, you said I am not alone in this But that November night, on a video call, it was pouring outside Took me by surprise when it came out of my mouth I'm sorry that I'm the one you loved
Tumblr is good for creative types because the tag system lets you be truly deranged about how much you like it without feeling as Exposed as a Comment Section
Everybody's self conscious Commenting but the tags are a lawless place. People are screaming and barking in there. This keeps the artiste fed

gen z has to reckon with its radicalization problem. you are not a morally pure and superior generation of youth come to save the world, your men and boys are radicalized at an unprecedented level and you ignore it because itâs too hard to address but you have to. these boys are in your classes, they date your friends, you know them and you cannot continue to pretend this is an âold white guyâ problem
girls are contributing, too. the coquette aesthetic, the âi donât want to girlboss i want a man to pay my billsâ, girlmath girljob girlmoney. itâs a joke, itâs clothes, itâs whatever, i get it but it is driving a mentality of traditional gender roles and you know youâre joking but your boyfriend doesnât. your kid brother doesnât. you have to stop this shit it is a contributing factor
Majority of Gen X voted for fascism so maybe itâs not just Gen Z that needs to get its shit the fuck together.
no fucking body is saying "gen z is the sole reason" stop being so fucking defensive and have some comprehension skills for a fucking minute. gen z young men are MUCH susceptible for radicalization (im talking about 12-18yo men who are vulnerable to rightwing propaganda) and the solution is to prevent further radicalization. those who are radicalized are far gone, we can do nothing about them (except for *phew phew*) but those who are not yet radicalized: reach out to them, further educate them, don't let them fall into this destructive rabbitholes. these are young boys around you: your cousins, your classmates, your siblings, your distant relatives.
gen z needs to stop thinking everything is about them because it distracts them from the actual stuff that are about them and that they can prevent.
and educate yourself too. educate yourself about the ways people can fall into alt-right pipelines. there is this great youtube series by Innuendo Studios called "The Alt-Right Playbook". Even if you do not want to be watch the whole series, just watch this one video which at least help u understand how the fuck the fascistic community is getting bigger and bigger today.
This is a time to further organize, become a union. stop dividing yourselves into categories within the community.
lolololol how old do you think I am? Iâve been on this site for well over a decade.
I was replying about Gen Xâs fuckery because EVERYONE IN THE USA BUT BLACK PEOPLE HAS WORK TO DO ON NOT BEING ABSOLUTELY SHIT. Focusing the blame on the youngest generation is ridiculous when literally every demographic but Black peopleâespecially not Black womenâis responsible for what happened. Fucking idiotic to boil this down to a particular age group, especially the youngest one that will have to suffer the most from the consequences, when everyone but Black people did this.
if your takeaway from what op said is "why are people *blaming* gen z" check your comprehension skills cause i don't see anyone blaming anything in that post on gen z or any other group.
that post points out to a very valid concern about increasingly susceptible gen-z (and gen alpha youth) for an alt right pipeline and addresses the need to prevent that.
you need to take a breathe and realize that nobody needs a scapegoat within the community right now to rage onto, and certainly get a grip of your comprehension skills
you are only stronger when you are together.
They are đŻ percent putting the onus on Gen Z while neglecting to mention the hundreds of thousands of bigoted content being generated by Millennials, Gen X, Boomers, etc. that the younger generations are being influenced by. This is not a comprehension issue. Everyone is at fault for this influx of toxicity. To address the pipeline they should also address who's helping to build it, not just the people who are being influenced by it.
i feel like i keep repeating the same thing, the radicalized instituions are already built - fighting them directly is a losing battle. when the og post said "gen z needs to address its radicalization problem, they mean that their problem w the generations young boys being susceptible to radicalization. nobody is saying that the influencers of alt right are gen z. the radicalization is an ever-present issue with all generations and more often than not the radicalizing organisations are ran by previous generations (andrew tate is not a gen z, nor is joe rogan and many more). HOWEVER gen z, and soon gen alpha needs to be trained against these radicalizations and the ones who needs to be trained are mostly those who are susceptible to radicalizations: mostly young men that experience loneliness, meaninglessness, or a lack of belonging.
an adult millenial or gen x or boomer is either less likely to be radicalized or are already radicalized: they are grown ass people with grown ass frontal lobes - where as there is still hope for derailing gen z-ers. that is the problem that needs to be addressed. this is that simple. there is no need to play scapegoat

the thing is these types of communities and pipelines are always prevalent in any type of society, trying to fight the existence of it, unfortunately is a losing battle, and a big distraction that benefits the alt right recruiting more time.
the message of the post above is not "it's all gen z's fault" it is more like "we need to save gen z male youth who is susceptible to radicalization"
but there is a big issue that needs to be addressed within the community of gen z itself as well because nobody seeks to understand how the alt-right pipeline works, and in that case what you need to do is research about it, fortunately there are a lot of resources that explains the mechanisms of alt-right which u can study and use the knowledge in suspecting the people who are susceptible for such radicalization but are not yet radicalized and then just reach out to them and make sure these people are aware of the pipeline: there tends to be a lot of people as such in your environment who are not yet radicalized: whether it is a younger brother, cousin, distant relatives, your classmes and etc
but first of first what needs to be done is to really figure out how the pipeline works
no generation is to blame but all generations leftists should take it upon themselves to act fast and strong
