Hello, I probably found why I thought Horatio from Mphfpc was inspired by Horatio from Hamlet after re-reading a Map of Days and Hamlet and my explanation is shorter and much more simple than I hoped.

Reason 1: Both Horatio's has a friend/companion whose name starts with "H" and dies at the very end after giving their Horatio a task. Also both Horatio's are very loyal to the said friend/companion whose name starts with "H"

Reason 2: Both Horatio's experience the death of mostly everyone they have known and they are the last one alive.

For example Horatio from Mphfpc is the last hollow hunter that didn't die and Horatio from "Hamlet" is the only one who is still alive at the end.
