The curiosity had gotten the better of him. Ishimaru reached over to press the conveniently placed button. At first, nothing happened to either of the two, but moments later, the hall monitor collapsed on the ground, feeling as if he were shrinking.

Sonia watched in horror as Ishimaru began to shrink right in front of her. Before she could say anything, he began to grow again. No. That wasn’t it. She was shrinking as well! Before long, both of them were half the height they had been before. After the shock had passed, Sonia looked to the young hall monitor. “Ishimaru!” She exclaimed, “You… you’re a child!”

"W-What..?" He stammered as he slowly pushed himself off the ground. His uniform was baggy on him as it was now too large to fit him. He stared down at his hands which were covered by his oversized sleeves. "W-what!?" The young hall monitor turned to the princess with a confused look on his face. "W-wait a minute! So are you, Miss Sonia!"

Sonia looked down. Sure enough, he was right. Her clothing was too large for her, and her headband had fallen off. “Do you think it was the button?” She asked. Her voice was higher pitched. She had thought that the button would be harmless, but it seems like she had been horribly wrong. Unfortunately, the two of them were now two short to press it again.

"It must have been, I cant think of any other possible explanation for this." He looked up at the button he just pressed. Perhaps if they pressed it again, it would return the, to normal, too bad being able to reach it was out of the question. "Oh dear, if only I hadn’t pressed that button. I’m very sorry, Miss.."

“Do not worry. You had no way of knowing that this would happen.” She looked up at the button. There had to be a way to press it again. She had an idea, but she wasn’t sure if the young hall monitor would agree with it. “Perhaps, if I were to climb onto your shoulders, we would be able to press the button again.” She didn’t want to dirty his uniform, and climbing on a boy’s shoulders was not very lady like, but she couldn’t think of any other way.

"Climb on each others shoulders…?" The idea wasn’t exactly ideal, however there didn’t seem to be anything else for either of them to stand on, near by. "Alright.." He sighed, reluctantly. "Unless.. T-there aren’t any other options, are there?" The little Kiyotaka asked, looking around at the area for something that could possibly prove useful to their situation.

“If you do not want me to stand on your shoulders, you can stand on mine instead.” She was definitely strong enough to hold his weight, she had participated in many athletic events back in Novoselic. It would be even easier now that he was child sized. It seemed like the situation was making him uncomfortable. Did he think that she was going to be too heavy?

"No, no, princess! It’s alright!" Ishimaru said waving his hands before accidentally whacking himself in the face with his sleeve. "Ow.. I-I mean, you may stand on my shoulders! If it will assist us in solving our little dilemma, I will gladly oblige." He kneeled to the ground so Sonia would be able to get on his shoulders. 'Surely things won't go wrong, right?' He thought, to himself, as he tried to ignore the possibility of him letting her fall and get hurt.

“Alright then” Sonia said. She took off her shoes, which were too big for her and would make it difficult to climb. She climbed onto Ishimaru’s shoulders, holding onto her clothes to make sure there wouldn’t any embarrassing incidents. She reached out for the button, wobbling a bit in the process. Stretching her arm out as far as it could go, she felt the smoother surface of the button beneath her fingertips. She pressed down on it.

He had forgotten how weak he was as a child. He struggled to hold her up as she pressed the button. Once she finally reached it, he gave in and fell over, causing her to fall off as well.

“Ah!” Sonia let out a cry as she fell over. As she landed on the ground, she felt herself growing. Her clothes became tighter until they fit normally again. She turned to Ishimaru. He had grown back to normal as well. “We did it!” She exclaimed. They were finally back to normal. She stood up and dusted herself off. It was a good thing Ishimaru had fallen over, it might have become awkward if they had grown back to normal while she was still on his shoulders.

Ishimaru stood up and looked down at his clothes after dusting himself off. "What a relief." The hall monitor sighed, thankful to not have to deal with baggy clothing, anymore. He looked back at the strange button. "That was certainly an.. Experience.. At least we are back to normal."

Kiyotaka knew the mechanic could bash his head in with a wrench at any moment, yet the hall monitor still chose to talk back at him.
