"It’s burn! I can’t…" the spy Ke moaned on the operating table when the nanobots were destroying his every cells and rebuild new ones.
"Yeah, of course you can’t!" the doctor laughed in the next room and was watching all these happened. "You can’t betray your country!"
Ke was an assistant researcher in the highly secret military research center. He recently expressed his dissatisfaction with his country's use of violence against foreign powers, even though the government and his colleagues considered it a just act. Ke believes his country has degenerated.
So he decided to secretly send the data on his latest ultimate weapon to the country where his ancestors lived two hundred years ago. He hoped that this country could counterbalance his own.
Fortunately, he had already been spotted by the project's director. He was caught before he could take the data. Logically, the doctor should have handed Ke over to the military, but he lacked suitable volunteers for the latest weapons experiments. The requirements were: physical strength, high intelligence, and the ability to generate negative emotions and malicious thoughts.
Physical strength was necessary to endure the painful physical modification process; a high level of intelligence was needed to withstand the forced indoctrination of massive amounts of information and transform it into artificial intelligence; and the elimination of negative emotions and malicious thoughts was the indicator of the experiment's success.
Ke was a perfect fit for all these conditions! So he immediately threw Ke into the modification test and used the "latest weapon" on him, watching the whole process from the next room. Ke's body transformed rapidly after the injection, turning from flesh and blood into a complete machine in less than 20 seconds!
"Unit is ready to serve." The computer announced when the process was completed.
The doctor walked in excitedly and looked the robot Ke up and down. He felt that its appearance could be adjusted to be more attractive, which shouldn't be too difficult, given the existence of nano-robots. The key question was whether Ke would still possess emotions and malicious behavior.
"Who do you serve?" The doctor asked the robot.
"It serve its country." The robot said.
"What are your thoughts on my country's involvement in overthrowing foreign tyrants?"
"It's a machine. Machines have no thoughts. Start analyzing. Analyzing complete. It's an action that aligns with national interests—it's perfectly logical."
"Then what should you do?"
"It only acts when someone gives it an order. It serves its country. Only those authorized by the government or military are qualified to give orders."
The doctor was very satisfied with the results, but he didn't want to present them to the military yet. He wanted to restore the appearance to its original state first; perhaps this would allow Ke to continue as a spy, but as a spy for our side.
Undoubtedly, it will not betray US this time. Robot Ke would always be one of US.
