There’s just. Something about the way Kevin puts aside his usual problems when it comes to Jean. How he lets Renee spread photos of his injuries and threaten to release them to the public to save Jean, even though we’ve seen how private he is about the Nest. How he tells Jeremy what Riko did - something he himself says he hasn’t told ANYONE except the Foxes - just so Jeremy can better understand Jean’s trauma. Ow 👍

not really sure how to articulate this but one of the most heartbreaking but most hopeful things about the sunshine court was the implication of how badly jean wants and always wanted to love. heartbreaking because he wanted to love kevin so badly but kevin left. he would have loved nathaniel but he was his “broken promise,” taken away from him before he ever could. and so hopeful because he ends up in a place with people who aren’t leaving and are so willing to finally finally love him back. so interesting to put a character who clearly wants to love in a place (the nest) where they’re quite literally not allowed to. i loved this story so much.

obsessed with neil josten being too stingy to buy clothes for himself but instead opting to spend his fortune on a fancy sports car for his boyfriend and to put a hit on jean’s abuser
