Conrad scenes near the ocean and Jere scenes in the pool
so i've been thinking about it, and i saw some people saying scenes with Jere are in the pool because it's stagnant water, and the ocean is infinite.
but here's what i found out:
Conrad's love is like ocean. it can be deep, but it's unpredictable, dark, full of secrets, it's cold and hot, it's unknown, it has its storms and even tsunami, it can be still at one moment and then destructive and cruel. his love requires fighting, it has red flags all over the beach, it has warning signs. he was never taught the right way to love people and to love himself, that's why it's so hurtful for everyone around him even when he's trying to do the right thing. i believe he can learn to be better to himself and others, but for now his love is draining.
while Jere's love is calm, it's well-known, secure, fulfilling, it gives a feeling of being protected, there's no storms, no darkness, no coldness in him. he's open and warm, his love is always the same, it never changes. it feels like being home, like summer, like sun. it's not mysterious, it doesn't depend on any circumstances, it's always there. it gives the opportunity to relax and be yourself without having to be cautious.
choosing Jere means choosing comfort, happiness and stability, while choosing Conrad means fighting, hurting and drowning at the end.
i do not hate Conrad. he's lost just like every other character in the show. i just think people should heal before making others do it for them, because it's not their responsibility nor it should be.
